A little over a year ago, I fell for the biggest scam ever. I was shown how this company was in good standing with the Better Business Bureau and had been since 2002. I was told that this would be an easy business to run, mainly I just had to increase my visibility on the web by different forms of advertising. For a cost of $199 I could have my own moneymaking website. Then for an additional $9,650 they would run an ad campaign that would move my website onto the first two pages of all the major search engines, and increase my traffic with web banners and that this would generate anywhere from $4000 to $6000 a month. I knew that this was a too good to be true, but thought that if I could make even half that it would be worth it. Besides, if it didn't work out I would get $4500 of my money back.

After 3 months and no sales, I began to worry. I would call and speak with my personal account rep Megan, and she just kept telling me to give it time. When my calls started becoming less friendly around 5 months into the campaign, she began telling me it was my fault that my website didn't rank higher on the search engines. I read all the jibberish (and that's what it was) they e-mailed me and tried to apply as much of it as I could, but it never made any difference. Now a year later my four combined website sales are a little over $30 and they won't even give me my $4500. And to make things worse, the more I researched it, I found out that there was no way my website ever could have shown up on a search engine because of the type of website it was.
