Dr David Shawa is under investigation by numerous insurance companies for medical fraud. The California State Medical Board is also investigating him for failure to refer. Dr Shawa is also guilty of divulging patient information to a friend back in Louisiana named Dr Sylvia Hollowell.

Dr Shawa failed to refer a patient with severe disc protrusions to a surgeon for open back surgery. As a result, the patient's personal injury case was ruined.  The patient is still injured and reported him to more than 100 insurance companies for medical fraud.
