I wrote a check to Pizza Time for 26.72 to pay for a pizza. I had forgotton to deduct my monthly bank fee so the check was returned to them. I had set the cash aside to take care of it when they contacted me. (I was not going to pay before they had trhe check to give me) They never contacted me, instead, they ran the check through three times with another transaction of a 25 dollar fee. This practice has cost me over $120 in fees alone. In addition, I noticed when my order was delivered that their large pizzas had been downsized to a 14 inch from a 16 inch for the same price and the amount of toppings had been cut down severely.

Let me get this straight

AUTHOR: Inspector - Tobyhanna (USA)

YOU write a bad check and then YOU expect them to get in touch with you to straighten it out and they are the bad guys here.  So you find another thing to whine about, the size of the pizza.  In this economy they either increase the price or downsize the pizza to pay for expenses to operate a business, especially when customers are writing bad checks.  GET A LIFE MORON!

Most places send you out a notice so you can pay for an nsf check. I considered stopping payment on the check when I saw that the product had been downsized. If they are going to downsize their product, the customer should be told in advance before ordering. There is no need for your rude remarks.

Bad report title

AUTHOR: Flynrider - Phoenix (USA)

You were not scammed on the NSF check.   You wrote a bad check.  It is your responsibility to make sure that the vendor gets paid as soon as you find out about it.  The establishment that received the bad check has zero responsibility in this transaction.   This is all on you.

If you're lucky, this business will only try to resubmit the check.   They also have the option of reporting you to a check verification company, which will result in your checks not being accepted anywhere.   They could also turn the matter over to the local prosecutor for enforcement.

If it was my business and I had received your rubber check AND been labeled a scammer on the Internet, I would do a lot more than just resubmit your check.

#4 Owner of Company

I am a former employee

AUTHOR: Rev Daniel Baxter - olympia (United States of America)

I used to work for a pizza time in Washington state for 10 years.  I am not advocating that people should buy from them (I don't).  I do however feel that this is an unjustified attack on the company.  I was the General manager and know the procedures.  I have even worked along side the president of the company at times.  It is routine for many businesses to resubmit a bounced check.  I would have advised putting the money in the bank.  Most businesses do not control this.  They deposit your check in their bank.  It is their bank that resubmits it.  Also how many companies (unless they are very small) have you seen that contact the person that bounced a check directly.  Although I have done so in the past it is common practice for those checks, after repeatedly bouncing, to be sent to a collections agency.

Also as far as sizes of pizza, if you check all the national chains such as dominoes and pizza hut all of them have the standard size of 14 inches for a large and 16 inches for an extra large.  Even Papa murphy's uses that standard.

I am sorry but, although I am not fond of the pizza time corp nor some of the franchisees I believe this particular attack on pizza time is unwarranted and illogical.  I believe if the complainant had used common sense and put the money in the bank they would be in a lot better position.  Also keep in mind who's fault it was the check bounced in the first place.  Obviously you can't blame pizza time for that.
