I am absolutely livid at this company.  My 80 year old mother had one of their Swash 1000 installed because she is pretty much decrepit with Alzheimer’s and needed a bidet.  Whoever  my dad talked to on the phone at Brondell spewed out a bunch of lies about how they are the top awarded brand of bidet and how all other brands do not compare.  Sounded good so they bought one.  When it got installed, it was ice cold water.  They repaired it for free.  It still did not work.  I don’t know how many exchanges were made but ultimately it ended up in a refund.  My dad does not have the time or energy to keep uninstalling and installing and shipping and receiving and testing and calling for this company’s shoddy product.  Why would they sell such a horrible product that refused to even work correctly for one day?  I’ll tell you why.  I went to their website and looked at all of their so-called awards.  The majority of these “awards” are BUYOUTS.  Yes.  They paid thousands and thousands of dollars to obtain these awards.  These awards do not by any means indicate that their product is superior.  This seems like an unethical marketing technique to me.  It was misleading for them to push us to assume that their product would be the best for our mother.  I also looked at the reviews on Amazon to see if anyone else had a similar problem.  Somehow I get the feeling that the majority of their positive reviews were planted.  Everyone knows that ‘On the Vine’ Amazon reviewers are those people who get paid by companies to write extensive reviews and that’s why they have all that time to write all of those reviews- because it’s their JOB.  Brondell is a company that hypes itself up and fluffs itself out as much as possible but in reality their product is probably worth $50 in quality.  The features and functions that they list are identical to several other brands so why in the world would they get a real award?  They wouldn’t.  So, that’s why they paid money to get awards.  Do not be fooled.  We were and unfortunately in the market for a better bidet.  We will probably get a Coway or Inax.  Brondell tries too hard undermine their competition and their techniques come off as cheap and dishonest.

Company Rebuttal: False and innacurate report

AUTHOR: Brondell, Inc - San Francisco (United States of America)

The posted report from "T. Walkington" on December 30, 2012 is a hoax and not accurate in any way.

This is Steve over at Brondell - I am the president of the company and can assure you that in no way is this posting accurate or legitimate in any way.   We have absolutely no customer records of a person with the name "Walkington" ever purchasing one of our products, nor do we have any service records or refund records by this same name in our system.  It's also not our policy to have someone ship a brand new product that's not working back to us for repair as any product that does not work properly upon initial receipt (as in a brand new product) would be replaced without question, not repaired as stated by this complaint.

The original post is so full of inaccurate information that it seems it's been posted by a competitor.  I would welcome any customer with any issues related to our products or service to call us toll free at 888-542-3355.  We are happy to address them.

Our company prides itself on providing excellent products and top notch customer support and we back our products 100%.

With regards to our awards, reviews, and everything else stated in this false report - it's simply not true.  Do your research and you will see we have an excellent reputation online and have extensive distribution with many national trusted dealer partners.

Once again, if you ever have an issue with our company or products, I welcome you to contact us directly and we will respond immediately to any issues.

Kind Regards,
Steve
President, Brondell Inc

#2 Consumer Comment

AUTHOR: star - (United States of America)

"Pardon the pun, but 'bottom line': the Swash1000 squirts a bit of cold water prior to starting a warm water flow. "Shocking" is about the only word to describe the sensation. I tried to get used to it, but to no avail. I contacted Brondell and they tried to repair it free of charge, including shipping. But, 3 weeks later, the seat still wasn't fixed. Ultimately, had to return it for a full refund. It was a frustrating experience: time installing the seat, uninstalling the seat for shipping back for repair, reinstalling, uninstalling to ship it back for refund - and finally re-installing my original conventional seat. So, I guess in the end my complaint is that the entire purchase was a complete waste of time."

I don't think it's fake.  Employees shouldn't accuse customers of lying just to cover their butts.
