Almost 5 years ago I was answering "surveys" on the internet and was contacted by FBK in response to one of the questions pertaining to septic systems. As I want to keep my system in good working order (which it was then and still is with store product RidX) I was talked into ordering their septic product. I'm relying on my memory of the sequence of events, and as I thought it was finished way back when I haven't kept a written record until now.
The caller seemed earnest and helpful, and raved about the product. I received the product in a bucket, little packets. I really wasn't impressed, thought it was expensive, but used it and paid for it in full thinking that I wouldn't reorder. During this time they offered to let me "try" cleaning products and if I liked them I could pay for them or if not return them to the company, no charge. They again raved, promising wondrous results, environmentally friendly, etc., etc. I got the products, tried them, again was not impressed, returned them, thought "end of story".
Months later I got a phone call requesting payment. I explained that I didn't like the products and had returned them. The caller couldn't believe I didn't like them, offered me something else, I declined, thought "end of story".
Some time later payment was demanded by phone on the cleaning products. I explained that I had already talked to someone about this. He told me my account probably hadn't been updated. Offered me further products. I declined them.
A salesperson called several times to offer me other products, I asked repeatedly to be taken off their call list. I finally was told that I would have to call such and such number and make the request. I did so.
About once a year since then I have gotten calls offering new, improved products, and further calls about my owing them money. Each time I re-explained, to their seeming satisfaction, that I didn't owe them money and I wanted no further products. Each time I thought this was resolved.
Now, after not hearing from them for the past year at least, I'm getting calls from rude people telling me that I still owe them for half of the shipment for the septic product (as I said, I paid it in full already). In the past week I have gotten at least 6 calls from rude individuals, a "revenue agent", and a "lawyer" from their "collection firm", one "Joel Berkley" who has no supervisor (I asked), and a woman who called herself "Gail".
It has been one lie after another. Over the past several years I just thought they had poor bookkeeping skills, now I know they are devious and unscrupulous. I have told them they are harassing me and this is illegal, to which they had snide comments about my being "practiced" in bilking companies like theirs. From now on I will keep meticulous records of their calls. Also, during all this time, I have NOT gotten anything in writing from them. The burden of proof is on them.
These ARE illegal practices. I intend to find out what recourse I have against them, especially if they have blemished my credit report.
Oh, this is all over $94.00 which is what they tell me I owe them. Their people are bullies and cowards, and they are practiced in their lies and insults.
