Orange Coast Plumbing damaged my bathtub (which was in excellent condition) while removing the drain and damaged my drywall while anchoring a pedestal sink, all while doing almost $4000 worth of work they said I needed. They sent Austin Coatings to reglaze the tub and the caulking he did never dried and it started to melt and expose the cracks, plus the new coating he put on began to chip within 2 weeks. I also began to have a leak from the upstairs bathtub coming through the downstairs ceiling almost everytime the shower was used.

I tried numerous times to get them to come and fix these issues but was ignored for 3 months. Then they called me about the money I owed and I refused to pay them until they fixed these issues. I was told a manager would be informed of the problems but I did not hear from them for another month when they called once again asking for the money I owed. I practically had to beg them to come out and see the problems, they just kept saying they were going to sue me and that I should "tell the judge".

They finally did agree to come out and agreed that there were problems. The overflow was not installed right by their own technician (after Austin Coatings reglazed the tub) which was the cause of the leak. They fixed that and called Austin Coatings to come back out to redo their job. He patched the chipped area very poorly and dropped clumps of glaze on the floor of the tub (I also found more areas of chipping that have begun). The caulking job was also very sloppy looking, but at least it didn't melt. He also told me the reglazed tub requires special care that nobody told me about before.

I complained again to Orange Coast Plumbing and told them I did not want the reglazing because it is not as durable as what I had before and it requires special care, this also takes away from the value of my home. I want to have what I had before they damaged it. They came out again, took pictures, said that it was a poor job and would get back to me about what would be done about it. I gave them a check for half of what I owed to show good faith, but they never contacted me back, even after I called them again.

Several contractors have seen the work and can't believe that they would leave me in this predicament. They also think I was taken advantage of in the beginning with all the work they said I needed plus their charges, 4 months of living with a leak that was due to their incompetence, 3 days with no use of my bathtub/shower on 3 separate occasions trying to fix the damage they did to my tub (and it is still NOT fixed right), and they haven't even fixed the drywall damage. They have refused to give me any kind of credit for my inconvenience and they are now suing me.
