Danny Veno has operated under a number of different names and addresses in the DFW area.  Subcontractors report that each pool building season he sells a number of contracts, using money he collects from one customer to begin construction on others.  Typically he will complete 50% or less of the contracts he executes, leaving the remaining unfinished.  The companies then disappear, phone numbers change, along with addresses - which may or may not be falsified to begin with.

In my case, nearly two seasons went by without my pool and hardscape progressing beyond gunite shell and plumbing (excluding equipment).  I was given excuses, heard the delays blamed on contractors, legal problems with other customers that were "unfounded", then assurances that once the new building season came along and he received some capital he would complete my project.

After consulting an attorney who discovered that Mr. Veno had apparently few assets in his name, I was advised that the cost of pursuing a claim against he and his company that, while likely successful, would also likely be uncollectable, and I would be better off putting that money toward completing my pool.

I spent in excess of $15,000 completing my project, during which time many of the subcontractors who I employed informed me of similiar incidents involving Mr. Veno.

I post this information so that consumers who are considering doing business with any company owned by Mr. Veno carefully consider the preceding and that they complete due diligence (reference checking, contract review, BBB review) BEFORE signing a contract or paying any monies to himself or his agents.
