Over the Labor Day weekend, 2006, I went to Rec Warehouse (formerly Recreational Factory Warehouse)to shop for a hot tub during their "Battle of the Brands" sham. I was not prepared for their "car dealer" showroom practices where a salesperson softens you up before turning you over to the "back room closer".

I was shocked at how expensive the floor models were. This evidently is designed to give you the impression that you're getting a great deal from the closer....you're not....you're being screwed and lied to.
They close the deal by giving you all sorts of freebies (cheap overpriced crap); delivery, steps, chemicals, etc, assuring you that no one else in the industry is so affordable.

What hooked me was the WRITTEN guarantee of "double the price difference" if I found a similar spa for less. I thought I could not go wrong......boy was I.

After finding several other brands that were much cheaper with better options (larger motors, larger size, more jets, light packages, etc) I went back to Rec Warehouse for them to honor their warranty. I was treated like a pariah. I called their corporate customer service # and got a rep. named Seth, who screamed at me over the phone about all of the special secret parts that were used in my spa, and that other hot tub makers use garbage and follow Leisure Bays lead in spa technology and parts. None of these special secret parts were ever mentioned during the sales pitch, but I guess that Seth felt that if he screamed enough and piled on the crap, I would leave him alone.

Needless to say, I got nothing. The guarantee is toilet paper. Their "great warranty" has a travel charge in it that allows them to charge anything they want to actually come to your house and service your spa under warranty.
I got screwed, ripped-off, and abused. Hopefully my telling this, will warn you off from these cheats.
