I purchased some hangtags from printplace. It site doesn't allow you to upload your custom ART until you have paid. After paying, I had problems uploading my ART so Chris French asked me to email to him. I did email it to him but when he was finished with the file, there was a whole going through the company name so I sent him a different file.

He stated I would have to pay $25 because he was only allowed one free upload per customer. I told him I wouldn't pay $25 extra to upload a file. I was having problems because my ART work included some accent marks. the site info said to use FTP if that was the case.

I couldn't log into the printplace FTP due to invalid password. I emailed Chris repeatedly to ask for the password but he claimed I didn't need it. I kept emailing him and then I stopped getting a response. I sent an email asking HOW to cancel my order or If i wasnt going to need to file a chargeback through my card company.

At this point he responsed and claimed he hadn't gotten my previous emails. He then asked me to email the new ART work to him . 2 days later I got a cancelation notice LESS $15. I had previously asked Chris how much it would be if I canceld and he never addressed it. I immediately emailed Chris back and told him I did not authorize them to cancel my order. He asked me to send him the ART work , because if it wasn't useable then there was no need to reopen the order.

I emailed Chris the ART work and got a response back that the order was already cancelled.He asked me to place another order but said nothing of the $15 charge . I asked for my $15 back because I didn't ask them to cancel. He said he had email "proof" of me asking the order to be canceled. I emailed him back that asking for an order to be canceled is NOT tantamount to canceling the order.

I never heard back from the company. I have emailed Chris, info@printplace.com and also Kendra Watwood who is the audit manager. I never heard back from them. I filed a chargeback with AMEX..but because the amount was so small they just wanted to give a credit. I explained I thought the company was a sham and I was filing a chargeback based on principle.
