LIFEWAY COLLEGE and ELAINE HESSE STEEL are perpetrating a fraud and a rip-off, as this "college" is unaccredited, and, thus, its "degrees" and "certificates" are worthless. This is a business venture to fleece the unsuspecting, the desperate, and the gullible. It hides under the false cloak of Christianity.

I have known Elaine Hesse Steel for decades. In her first marriage, she tried to seduce me in my own barn. This was before her stardom on Beauty and the Beast catapulted her into being the Head Mistress of a then failing private Anglican Girls" High School, S. Hilda's of Dunedin She got the was appointed to the position despite having no teaching qualifications in the hope that her TV fame would save the school. In the event, it was school integration that saved the school. Once I heard of her appointment, I reported her for gross moral turpitude to the Board of Governors, but she was saved by her trusting, foolish husband who flew to her aid. In time he would find out the hard way of her duplicity, greed, and sluttish behaviour.

So, Elaine claims to be an historian. What has she published? She received a middling BA degree in history, and that is her sole paper qualification. She began an MA in history at Otago, was demoted to doing a PGD for poor grades, and never completed the degree, although she claims to have done so. It was such a false claim, once revealed, that caused the United World College to "restructure" her position as an easiest, cleanest way of sacking her. At S. Hilda's she used part of her then husband's teaching background to justify her getting a position as teacher at S. Hilda's. She was just about caught by the Board Secretary, Mr Doug Rawlings, but luck saved her. As Head Mistress, one of her first victims was hapless, honest Mr Rawlings who knew too much.

Elaine has no qualifications for teaching Business Administration other than a keen ability to diddle Inland Revenue. When Head Mistress, she never declared the annual perks that were worth thousands of dollars.
Why is a Christian school employing an adulteress whose behaviour was so disgraceful in having it off with the Parish Vicar and Marriage Guidance Counsellor to her and her husband that it not only destroyed his position and forced her own resignation at S. Hilda's but also made it into the front page of TRUTH. Imagine the embarrassment of seeing her associated with the banner headlines BEAUTY and the PRIEST? Was not enough damage done to the Vicar's abandoned wife and children to become the butt of bawdy jokes?

Elaine is a ruthless woman. As Head Mistress, she ran a reign of terror against all colleagues whom she perceived to have snubbed her when she was a junior teacher there. Her own rise was at the expense of rivals whom she set up for a fall. I've mentioned Doug Rawlings. Then was the demise of d**k Skinner who tried to investigate my claim of attempted seduction. When Rosalind Steel pleaded with her to leave her husband alone in a melodramatic scene straight out of Victorian times, Elaine responded that she would never understand a love that was sanctioned by God. She tried to destroy her then husband, rob him blind, but he recovered to fight again and despite moving onto other relationships, he has not forgotten or forgiven. He said to her at the time that there were civilised ways of ending a 20-year relation, but she persisted in her thievery and determination to destroy him because God sanctioned her adultery, that she had a new nest to feather. And she wonders why he has never missed a chance to unmask her. I wonder if she ever wonders if maybe a clean, honest break would have been preferable especially since love had disappeared from the marriage very early on. It was a sense of duty, respect for marriage and family that kept him from leaving Elaine a decade or more before she betrayed him.
