Please, please, please never send your children to Saint Anthony school in Fort Lauderdale. They are out to deceive you and take your money. They really don't care about your children.

To begin with, the school website is full of questionable information. For example, in the "Academics" section they claim that students in the junior high are offered electives. This is two lies in one! First of all, electives were canceled this year for no good reason. Second, two of the listed "electives" never existed in the first place! Next, they claim that they give your children "individualized instruction to meet each students needs and differences". This also is a lie. I can say from my own experience that the teachers DO NOT care about your kids' needs. Instead, they focus on minuscule things like whether the kids did their homework on yellow or white loose leaf paper. Imagine that!

Most if not all the teachers at the school are the "it's our way or the highway" type. For example, one of the male teachers ripped up my son's worksheet. Why? Well, the impatient teacher was bent on students doing it his way only, but the problem was that the lines were about 10 millimeters long and one of the words was "United States of America"! Well, what was his response to this? Oh, put the word above or below the line. Well there was no space above or below the line, so my son put a., b., c. etc. next to the individual words in the word bank. What was his response? Well, first he retorted his above or below the line idea, and when my son tried to explain very calmly that it was not possible, so the teacher crumpled up his paper and threw it away, and told him to start over.

The administration is, sadly, worse than the fabricated information on the school website. The principal rules with an iron fist and anyone who dares to question the principal's decisions is punished, suspended, fired, you get the idea. And when you son or daughter gets in trouble for something they didn't do, the principal is quick to throw you under the bus. Sorry, but the principal there doesn't give a crap about you or your child, and they are quick to defend the accuser and jump to conclusions--unless, of course, you give tens of thousands of dollars to the school. They even banned cell phones on campus! How are students supposed to communicate with their parents at the end of the day without cellular phones? Adding injury to insult, the students aren't even allowed to use the various phones around campus.

Bottom line: If you are looking for a good Catholic school in the Fort Lauderdale area, then do not choose Saint Anthony.
