In early September of 2008 I posted an ad on craigslist looking for a website designer to build some websites for me. James Mariany contacted me immediately and said he was a great designer and had designed some websites that sold to bigger companies. On September 4, 2008 me and Mr. Mariany agreed that he would build three websites for me for the price of $1,800. I would pay 50% upfront and he would start building the sites. He even made up a contract with timelines in which the websites would be built.
About a month goes by and I ask him how everything was going and he said things were moving along well and that I should be able to see the sites soon. Well two weeks went by and I asked where the sites were and he was still working out some "bugs" and would have them up in a bit. So I gave him more time and this charade went on forever. I finally asked for my money back because it was about 3 months and still no websites.
I have been asking him for a refund and he keeps coming up with excuses for that as well. Clearly this guy is nothing but a douchebag scam artist who has taken all of us for a ride. I really hope that we can join together and sock it to him so he does not do this again. People like him belong in jail with the rest of the criminals because that is what he is.
