I'm reporting that AirG has been acting in an unbusiness -like way by charging me for a service or services that I've never used! I noticed that there was a $4.99 charge on my cell phone bill that was billed as AirG Voice Chat. I have no clue what this service is, nor have I ever used it in the past. I have had this problem before and have brought it to the attention on my service carrier.

I was reimbursed by the cell phone company but now another charge is back on my bill. I noticed this time that there was an 800 number listed next to the charge and have called them. The operator that took my call informed me that I either downloaded a ringtone, wallpaper or game from them (I did not) or that I received a text from them inviting me to use their service (again, this is a negative). After informing the agent that neither was done in the case, he assured me that I would be "unsubscribed" and that no future charges would incur.

Now this is all fine and dandy, but my question still is "how did I get subscribed in the first place?!". Also, another little tidbit is that I was told (when I asked) that I would NOT be reimbursed for any charges. So basically I have paid this month and last month's charges, didn't use any service of their's, and I don't get anything in return. Nice.

This is a pretty nice scam on their part! I wonder how much money they're raking in from unsuspecting victims?

Anyway, I would LOVE to get a response from this company but I know I won't hold my breath on that. It would be nice for someone in the company to RECTIFY THIS SITUATION.

Sincerely,

An unwitting victim of AirG.

Response to Naomi

AUTHOR: airG - Vancouver (Canada)

Dear Naomi,

Thank you for your feedback, Naomi. Firstly, we are disappointed that you had a bad experience and we want to work with you to rectify the situation.

Please ensure that you have identified the correct charges on your bill and that we are the correct company to contact.  In your post, you mentioned ‘ringtones’, but airG does not provide ringtones to their users.  Perhaps the contact number for that service is on your bill or you can ask your mobile provider how to get hold of that service.

It is also very important to discuss these charges with other family members as they may have access to the same phone.  Increasingly, we find that customer billing inquiries stem from the person paying the bill not being aware of the usage generated by a friend or family member with access to the same phone.

Finally, once all of the above have been reviewed, please contact me directly at support@airg.com and we will strive to ensure your questions are answered and you have a better experience.

Sincerely,

Karen
