As I've read with others reporting this company - I DON'T RECOMMEND THEM! They are initially attractive because of their LOW price - that should have been a warning sign. Right below the place you start the order "Add to Cart" it shows "Availability: usually one day" - based on other complaints and my own experience I would not believe that statement again.

Order placement process was reasonably easy, but within 48 hours I checked back and found the item was on back-order, I communicated through their on-line Live-Chat ( a mistake because there is no written record of the exchange). I was informed that it would probably be 7-10 days before the item shipped due to a back-order (another red flag) - I immediately asked to cancel the order and the person on the other end of "chat" acknowledged and confirmed order was canceled. At that point I was very aggravated over being mislead on availability, but felt okay that order cancellation had occurred.

HERE"S MY MAIN PROBLEM: Though, I promptly received an Email from SageRyder, Inc with a refund number explaining refunds: they do "cash refunds" in the form of a check "usually" processed within 30 BUSINESS days. That was outrageous!

#1 - They should not have charged my credit card for a product on back-order. If there was a disclaimer to that effect I didn't see it!

#2 - It is a common business practice to credit back the amount to the credit card - particularly when the product order was quickly canceled and NEVER SHIPPED!

#3 - A check refund that takes 30 business days - we're talking 6-7 weeks! I called customer service to see what could be done and though they were very pleasant they stuck with the policy.

Trying to remain optimistic and hoping a check would show up more quickly I waited several weeks - received my credit card statement with the charge on it, then called the credit card company to dispute the charge - they in turn suggested we both take a moment to call the number they had for Projector Lamp Center (SageRyder) customer service, which we did. Projector Lamp Center (SageRyder) confirmed the order, cancellation and refund was in process according to their terms. I agreed to wait the FULL 30 BUSINESS DAYS for the refund check before following through on the dispute. Big surprise! Yes, you guessed it.. still no refund after 35 BUSINESS DAYS. I called the credit card company back, disputed the charge, explained in great detail what had transpired and finally a week later received a letter from the credit card company stating they had contacted the merchant, would credit my account and considered the dispute resolved. Of course with a disclaimer that the merchant could still present new information to counter my claim. I REALLY HOPE THAT DOES NOT HAPPEN!

All I can say is what a sweet deal for this merchant... get my money (and hundreds or thousands or more customers), use it for sixty days or more! I feel sorry for folks that actually wait one-two or more weeks before they cancel the order and start this mad refund process.

I am a professional executive and this is the first time I have taken so much of my time to document such an unscrupulous business practice - I hope others take the warning of approaching this company with extreme caution. At least be aware of their refund process... Good Luck!
