We recieved a letter with a check an official check, saying that we came in second in an online contest. the enclosed check was to cover the cost of insurance. My husband put the check in the bank the bank accepted it. That night I googled the company and found that it was a scam. Still not sure what they have to gain.
I did a reverse search on the phone number found it to be a cell phone, unlisted unpublished. Called the woman back she hung up on me. So not really sure what is to be gained for this fake company, but beware cause when the check doesnt clear your bank you will have to pay the charges.
