I told the support tech that I could not afford to lose the programs currently installed on my lap top because I needed them for my college classes. The support tech told me that doing the HP back up onto an external hard drive would save my programs. So I followed the support techs instructions to make sure I would not lose the programs.
All programs were lost but the back up allowed me to keep files from the programs. I could not afford to replace those programs so I could continue with college. I let HP know my issues and that if they could even get me a copy of 2 or 3 programs needed to stay in college I would be fine with that.
HP support offered me a coupon to try to get me to spend more money on their web site. I told them that that was no good I had no money and without the programs my GPA would fall and I would have to drop out of college.
HP told me that was all they could do. Hp also told me that their support was only authorized for hardware issues so the loss of programs was my fault, even though the support tech never told me that as well as the issue that the support tech took on was a software issue. So either the tech lied on multiple occasions lied to me or the management lied to me or both.
Either way, their lies cost me my 3.0+ gpa as well as thousands lost for the marketing course I could not complete the final assignment because I no longer had the programs to complete it, therefore I failed. Plus the cost of several programs and the ability to continue my college courses until I save the money to replace those programs.
