This company advertises a CD course for free. They then charge $19.95 for the CD set and take your credit card information, which was OK with me. Then, here comes the good part. They say the course is free, all you have to do is report to them the results of your experience with the course. Once you receive the course, they charge your account $109 and inform you that there will be 3 payments of $109, one payment in each of the next 3 months.
When you read the fine print, you find that the form to be filled out is to be done completely, after you have taken the course. But the charges start coming before one could reasonably be expected to complete the course. The questions are very specific and detailed. They say that they, ond only they, will judge whether the response is acceptable. There is a long list of reasons they will reject the answers, making almost impossible to complete the long dcoument correctly (according to their rules).
The survey was to be completed online. However, when I went to the suggested website, it was not in service. I received an email that the survey would have to be filled out on paper and mailed in, since the website was not functioning. I did not receive the survey and could not find it. Since the survey was either not received and/or not acceptable (according to them), my account was charged $109, with two more monthly charges to come.
I found no way to argue against the charge, so I disputed the charge and had it cancelled. They immediately sent the account to a Collection Agency. While the terms of the agreement may be technically correct, they have made it almost impossible and terribly time-consuming to meet their criteria. The whole process is intended to deceive the customer into thinking that the whole cost of the program is free or at most $19.95.
