cherrypal computer advertises as an environmental  socially responsible computer company  that provides a cloud computing service from anyone who buys their computers.  they sell the mini africa, a netbook & the 120c box.  the africa is meant as a low cost computer for the 3rd world.  the box is supposed to be energy efficient as it uses only 2 watts.  

i sent them aprx $270 by check (they would only accept check or wire).  this was a big mistake.  when u pay by credit card u can get your money back  as your payment is witheld a month by visa say before it is paid out  giving u time to cancel.  at any rate i have never received my computer and it has been about 3 weeks since it was ordered "air mail".

if i paid with my credit card i could  more likely get my money back if i did not receive product or it was defective.   so the em below was a come on.  in this case product was not received.  after numerous ems from me  they told me i could have my money back or still get the computer.  i decided to play fair with them and had them send the computer.  the computer was received but didn't work and i cherrypal stuck me with the non working computer. 

this was a very deliberate scam plan on cherrypal's part

i filed the original report & then amended same positively as i received my computer. since then it did not work  & i sent it back to max at his request for a replacement.  after (i forgot how many weeks-i am tired of keeping track)  it did not arrive.  i then email requested the return of my money which max agreed to  do.  he said  i would get my money immediately.  after 11 days having not received his check i asked for my money again.  have not heard from him since.

if u want to purchase something similar to max's product try shiva plug or zombu (zondu?).   i doeubt whether they are as dishonest & probably their product is better anyway.

cherrypal made good on getting their computer to me.  it was largely the fault of the postal system.  since then their numerous email responses to me have been complete and quick on any problems i have.  cp does now accept payment by credit card.

further if you visit the cherrypal site or one of their blogs you will find  that they have been charged by fraud by others but they have explained their the problem was caused by a middleman they were dealing with.   i do not believe they are lying about this as it can easily be checked.
