1 & 1 Internet Erroneous Billing for services not used Internet

I tested 1&1's web hosting plan, thought all was free, provided my creidt card, was billed for six months service, didn't use the product, conceded that i was screwed and didn't read the fine print so I ate the six month charge, then six months later i get charged six more months of service and never used the web services, i contested and they said i should have read the fine print (located where?), the bill went to the credit collection agency, now i am fighting with them over $29, 1@1 is hell bent on collecting for something i didn't use and their activity logs verify no use, there are hosting services like fatcow and web.com that are just as good and less costly and i doubt they would be so anti-cutomer service
