my name is thomas i signed up with 1and1 web hosting who doesn't explain all their polocies to you in the beginning and assume you will read their terms and conditions which i didn't have time to when i first signed up with them, now that i have i made one mistake and am paying for it until my 1 yr contract expires on 5.22.2013, they really stink and are only out to get your money.

this mistake is clearly written in their terms and conditions which i regret now not reading prior but their also monitoring my account so i don't put any more of this type of content again, it was adult content which is against their policies apparently and a violation of my constitional rights, so they think their god and god does not condone adult content either but let's face it about 25% of the interent is porn anyway.

their site building is professional and nice but the management attitudes stink.

if you want to build a professional site use them their worth that part but if you want adult content then you must go elswhere.

No violation of rights

AUTHOR: 5YearWinter - (USA)

You openly admitted you were wrong for not reading the Terms of Service (TOS) of the company.  The terms were right there.  But you feel the need to bring it up regardless.  The fact that they put the information in their TOS is explaining their policies to you in the beginning.  You just ignored to read it.  Don't blame them for that.

But as for you believing your constitutional rights are being violated is absolutely ridiculous.  While the United States does allow for pornographic sites to exist on servers in the US states and cities can have laws as well that can outlaw such content.  I have worked for web hosting companies that are legally not allowed to host adult content because of city laws.  Even if PA and Chesterbrook allow for such content 1&1 has ever right to restrict what kind of content they want on their servers, it is their company.  Again this is something outlined in their TOS under point 8.6.

"You agree and warrant that Your Data shall not violate any Laws concerning obscenity and shall not contain or link to any pornography..,"

I'm not saying that 1&1 are saints, I've heard some really bad stories about their service.  But they really didn't do anything wrong here.  They just stood by their TOS which you so nonchalantly say you didn't read.

I try to be as nice as possible when replying to people on here with web hosting issues.  I worked in the industry for many years and have practically seen it all.  And your first mistake (not reading the TOS) I saw countless times.  You're pissed, I get it but 1&1 is not to blame.
