I have been usuing online hosting for years. I require a company with good customer support with live operators. My previous experiences have been with Go daddy, Host Gator and now 1&1.

When I purchased my hosting service from 1&1.com they informed me it included a domain name. At that time I did not need the domain so I confimed I could save it for late. When the day came that I wanted to use my domain name that they sold to me they informed me they could not honor it. They gave me 3 different excuses why they couldn't. They did not offer any solutions or credits for not honoring their commitments.

I have worked with godaddy and have the same situation but no issues. 1&1 so far has been good with the hosting service but declined to give me the extras they sold me using the weak excuses that I didn't use it in time, I needed to use it up front, and now they can not help me. This was after a 45 minute call with a supervisor.
