Complaint Review: 1and1 web hosting
1and1 web hosting701 Lee Road, Suite 300 Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania United States of America
1and1 web hosting 1and1.com Web Master, customer Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania
I called and cancelled my account, but they still charged my account afterwards. Buyer beware! There is a contract slipped into the terms and conditions that you agree to when you buy their web server service. You also will have great difficulty transferring your domain to another registrar if you decide to stop hosting with them. Most hosting companies charge month to month or annually without contracts and provide much better web servers. I left because the servers were so horrible. I had to switch to another web host. Stay away from 1and1. I have been a web master for over 10 years and never encountered any web host service anywhere near this bad and this is the very first time I have ever been ripped off by a web hosting company.
Another note: If you are thinking about buying a website or domain, make sure it is not hosted or registered on 1and1, because the owner is trying to get away from crooks by offloading to the buyer. 1and1 will own your domain and your website under contract even though you may have paid good money for it.
