This company sold me a vehicle that didn't have ANY gas in it and I ran out on the way home, after 9:30pm on a Thursday evening. This resulted in a $37 parking ticket, a missed day from work, and a missed Dr. appt for me, resulting in a loss of approximately $150.

Over 1 month ago, they agreed to reimburse me a mere $20.00 for all this hassle, and I have yet to receive the check.

In addition, they also sold me "Gap Insurance" claiming I would get a discount from my insurer. My agent told me no insurance company offers a discount for Gap Insurance. This is deliberate deceit.

Take responsibility

AUTHOR: Alexis - (United States of America)

YOU should have looked at the gas gauge and YOU should have double-checked with your insurance as to whether or not they give you a discount on gap insurance.
It is your responsibility as a consumer to inform yourself. These are car salesman, they would tell you that the car runs on water if they thought you'd believe it.

The fact that they were going to pay you twenty dollars for your stupidity in not reading the gas gauge is amazing. I wouldn't have given you a cent.
Get with women's lib. We can vote, own property, and read gas gauges.

To Dave in Jacksonville, FLA You must be an Auto Dealer,

AUTHOR: Nancy - (U.S.A.)

To Dave,
Excuse me, but I am well aware of how to read a gas gauge.
And you don't send a female driver off of the lot at 9:30pm with a 20 mile drive, immediately after purchasing a brand-new car, with no gas. It's not the thing to do. If you noticed my request to the company, it only entailed a $20 rebate for all the hassles I encountered.
In addition, I did not "mishear" the salesman. He deliberately told me that Gap Insurance would result in a discount with my auto insurance company.
You must be an Auto Dealer, as your vehement response is completely uncalled for. I suggest you keep the idiotic suggestions to yourself.

Look at the little gauge thingy on the dash

AUTHOR: Dave - (U.S.A.)

There's a little thingy on the dashboards of most cars made in the last bazillion years or so. It's called a FUEL GAUGE, and it's really a neat little invention. It tells you if you are low on gasoline and to get your ass to a gas station!!

You probably shouldn't be driving until you can figure out how to check your fluids!

GAP insurance is a good thing. It will pay off the car should you be upside down with the finance company when you total the car of it gets stolen. You probably didn't hear the dealer correctly, I can't believe he would say that you get an insurance discount, it has nothing to do with discounts.
