So when I ask how much I need to pay,
"Thank you once again for holding, Ms. ####. I have discussed your policy with my Supervisor, and we will go ahead and reinstate your policy without a lapse effective 10/24/08. In order to reinstate, we will need a payment of $110.22. You can make a payment to reinstate your policy by credit card, debit card, checking or savings account for a convenience fee of $5.95 by going to www.speedpay.com . I would respectfully ask you to make a payment now and then give me the confirmation number so I can have my Supervisor manually reinstate your policy. Would that be possible at this time? "
So I had to ask how much for 6 months policy then since I have a very basic auto insurance policy and 2 years ago when I started my premium was $145.
"Donna: Your total term premium was offered at $422.00/six months; your first payment was $110.22."
I thought that was ridicules. How could they increase my auto premium $300 dollar in 2 years period. I never had any claim or bad driving history.
So when I asked " Can you lower my rate".
"Donna: I can understand how you may be upset at the situation, Ms. ####. Insurance rates do change based on many factors such as loss statistics the company has experienced over the years. Over the course of two years, we have implemented rate revisions to ensure that our rates are in alignment with the claims we have paid out. I do realize how this may have caused you an inconvenience, which is why we are offering to renew your policy without a lapse. We will certainly update your records. However, if you choose to go elsewhere and not renew your policy with us, it would then be your choice to cancel your policy, whether we had the incorrect information or not. It would still be that the policy canceled at renewal at your own choice. "
I thought that was crazy and insane.
They should have reimbursed me something for putting my safety and personal life in hazard.
It is crazy that I have to take the burden of their mistake. Now any where I go to shop for insurance policy they categorized me as lapsed insurance policy where I pay significantly higher rate than continuous policy holder.
Not to mention, this worthless company is part of AIG Direct. This is the same AIG got bailed out by tax payers money. Now I am paying again for their negligence. How could you rely on an insurance company who can keep your mailing address right. I wonder if they ever pay their claims.
This Corporation are ripping people off every day and every second.
I think AIG should apologize to me and should reimburse me.
Not to mention when I asked which number or address to contact for complain, "Ms. #####, there is no number on file to call, but if you would like to write a letter to our Corporate Office, please send it to: 70 Pine St., New York, NY 10270. "
The funny thing is the Corporate office address is on the www.21st.com and it is not what she provided me. It is
21st Century Plaza
6301 Owensmouth Ave.
Woodland Hills, CA 91367
By doing that she proved that they are not only negligent and lier but also a coward. They are afraid to take their own responsibility.
