24 Fitness Denied cancelation and charged for another bill period San Francisco California

I was a member of 24 hour fitness, and I absolutely hate the way they make you send in a letter, which takes days to arrive of course, then they send another letter back to you - responding that the membership has been cancelled - in the future. In other words, read the small print of the contract before you sign up for this company. Its a good gym, but do yourself a favor and write into the contract that cancellation must be within 10 days of receipt of cancellation letter or some such. They don't point out that you're still going to be a member, and paying for it, for months even after you cancel - which is bad business in my opinion.
