I noticed that there have been other complaints about the same issue, so I thought I would add mine so that maybe an attorney wanting to file a class action suit against 24 hour fitness would have enough people to make a case against them.

In 2003, 24hour fitness ran a promo that said if we paid in advance, an amount that was over $1000. we would get three years prepaid and a guaranteed annual renewal rate for life. I remember sitting in the office and specifically asking "was this good for all of the 24hour clubs?" I was told yes, except for the new club call ultra-sport that they were just building. I agreed to the contract. Over the years I used clubs in LA, Las Vegas and San Francisco that were called super-sport level clubs.

For the last couple of years I've been using the club closest to me that was called an Active Club, when I tried to go back to some of the clubs that I had previously used, I was told I didn't have the membership for them.

I asked for a copy of my contract and they sent me one, that was not signed but that said I didn't have access rights to super-sport or Ultra-Sport clubs.

I would like to take them to court, but so far I can't find the original contract that I signed. I will keep searching, but I know there are other people out there with the same problem. If I find the original contract, I will contact one of the local news outlets that do consumer protection stories and give them all the information.
