About the 24/7 Download software
AUTHOR: Matt - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Saturday, October 21, 2006
The software isn't typical peer-to-peer software. It's more like peer-to-unsuspecting peer software. It scans the internet looking to find open ports on unsuspecting persons' computers, much like an internet worm or hacker would do. Once connections are made between the user and the other computers, the software enables the user to download ANYTHING on the unsuspecting persons' computer. Including very private information (The readme for the software actually has a warning for this).
Obviously, you can tell that the use of this software is questionable at the least and illegal at worst. By using this software, you are doing things they may be considered hacking. The software is dangerous also as it can be leveraged by criminals to steal information.
My advice is to not use this software and uninstall it immediately (Though, that can be difficult to do, and theres no uninstall program included). You can also attempt to get your money back. Also, for people in general I suggest that for insure you have a running firewall and don't have any unused ports open. Someone could be using this software like this to download stuff from your computer without your knowledge.
I know this might be difficult for some to understand so, feel free to respond and ask a question if need be.
