I have never been to an auction before and, after my experience, I never will again!

I 'liked' the 403 Auction on Facebook and my curiosity got the best of me. I kept wanting to check it out but no item jumped out enough for me to go. Finally, on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, they posted a picture of Louis Vuitton Evidence sunglasses. I have wanted a pair of these $750+ sunglasses forever and this was my chance! Or so I thought. But I soon learned that if it's too good to be true it probably is.

The auction started at 6:00 pm. I had promised I would go to the gym with my friend already and didn't get home until 8:30 pm. I decided to take a chance and drive to the auction. I got there around 9:00 pm and the sunglasses were still there! I registered for the auction (which involved leaving your credit card number) and stood patiently waiting for the sunglasses to come up. They were in a dark display case with other items so I couldn't get a good look at them but the box and everything said Louis Vuitton. I kept waiting. 11:30 pm and they still hadn't come up but they started moving the auction faster as people were leaving and they obviously wanted to get the most money they could.

Finally, they came up. The auctioneers announced them as Louis Vuitton sunglasses and said they came with a certificate of authenticity. A few of us bidded until it was just me and one person. I went over the amount I had allowed myself in my head but feeling sick, waiting those long hours and the excitement of the auction got the best of me. But I won!

The seller handed me the box and I instantly knew I had bought a fake. My heart dropped. I wanted to just leave but they had my credit card information so I would have been charged anyway. I went to cash out and proclaimed to the girl working there that I believed they were fake. She told me she worked for an optometrist and said yes they were fake. So not only did they sell me counterfeit Louis Vuitton, they knowingly sold me counterfeit Louis Vuitton

I drove home, defeated and almost in tears. I legitimately didn't sleep that night. I had been ripped off and lost hundreds of dollars. I felt so taken advantage of.

I decided to call them and no answer. It's almost like they don't actually have someone who answers the phone. It just has a recorded message about the auction. I emailed them and explained the situation to them and that they had exposed themselves to secondary liability for trademark infringement as a result of assisting a counterfeiter in selling its counterfeit items by ignoring the infringement. No anwer. I even tried contacting them through Facebook and nothing. And why should they care? They have their money.

The 403 Auction, aka PRINCIPAL LIQUIDATORS INC., sells counterfeit items and doesn't stand by their sellers or buyers. All I wanted was my money back for the return of the sunglasses but no response was given. They clearly only care about money and I will never step foot in 403 Aucton again. I will also be sure to warn everyone I know to protect them from these scammers. Us buyers have the power to stop companies like 403 Auction from ripping off and scamming innocent us buyers.
