405Kite These jerks treated me like dirt and then refused a refund, they even laughed at me when I asked them and told me I wasn't cut out for it and to just give up. Oklahoma City Oklahoma

I signed up with these guys for lessons kitesurfing and they told me I should be ok even though I don't have any experience (though I'm physically fit!) Well I showed up to take the lessons and waited for them for fifteen minutes to show up, then after being late they never apoligized but acted like it was SOP and proceeded to treat me like dirt. Of course I asked for a refund and then they LAUGHED AT ME. They told me it was my fault and I'm not cut out to be a 'surfer', like being a surfer was a godly thing, then said that they were going to keep my money for their troubles. I was nearly in tears when I left. These guys are JERKS!

I am the owner/operator of 405kite, and would like to repsond to your report about my business because I believe you have a case of mistaken identity.
First, I am sorry you had a bad experience with your lesson. I'm sure you signed up for a lesson because you were excited and wanted to learn a great sport like kiteboarding, and It's a shame that feeling soon turned sour by the way you were treated.
Fact. There are 2 different organizations which give kiteboarding lessons at Lake Hefner. Me (405Kite), and another group whom I will refrain from naming them for liability reasons.
Fact. I teach soley by myself, with no other instructors or assistants. In your complaint you state the group teaching you were several people by the use of words like guys, they, them, etc.... even the use of the word 'jerks' in plural identifies it was more than one guy. As I stated, I teach solo.
Fact: I am a mature, well seasoned certified professional instructor; I would never address any student of 405Kite with the disrespect you encountered. I have had many students of all types and skill levels, and do nothing but encourage them with praise and helpful information. I also teach a short 'ground school' prior to every lesson from my gray 405kitevan. Did you receive this ground lesson?
Fact. I have a no-lesson guarantee if the lesson does not happen, I fully refund the students money; I would not "keep yourr money for the trouble".
It is for these factual reasons I firmly believe you have a case of mistaken identity, naming the wrong business in your report. If you search, you can find the 'other guys' easliy.
I would even be happy to offer you a 1 hour lesson to show you how fun a kiteboarding lesson can be.
