My wife and I bought a timeshare through Wyndham, and have been thrilled with it. On March 22 of this year, I was contacted by a young lady names Nikki, who stated that when we bought our time share, we were also given 10 bonus weeks from RCI that we could do with as we pleased. She told me they had a huge demand for these time share weeks, and wondered if I would be interested in selling her a minimum of 5 weeks that she could rent out, for a profit for me of $901 each. I agreed to sell her 3, and she e-mailed me the paperwork, and I signed a contract for the sale, with promise of a check to me within 120 days, 90 to sell, 30 to process. I saw my listing on thbe website, and was pleased. After about a month, I tried calling Nikki, and left several messages with her voicemail, and on the corporate number, without a return phone call. I then sent an e-mail, telling of my displeasure at their poor communication skills. After 3 additional e-mails, I finally got a call back from Nikki saying the check would be mailed by the end of July. On July 17th, I again called Nikki, and left 4 additional messages requesting a return call. I finally got a call back from another woman named Joleen, who said she would have Nikki call me right back. She never did. On the 19th of July, I again spoke to Joleen, and she told me the paperowrk had been screwed up, as they entered the wrong zip code, and it would delay my check by 30 days. It is now August 28th. Since my last conversation with Joleen on July 19th, I have left 12 voice mails with Joleen, and 8 with Nikki. When you call the national number, they have an automated attendant, who screens your calls. You have to pretend you are looking to sell or buy, just to talk to a live body. I still have not spoken to anyone over there.

On a seperate note, upon calling both RCI and Wyndham, I have since learned that it is ILLEGAL to make a profit on bonus weeks, and in doing so, Wyndham and RCI can AND will void your time share ownership, so this entire industry is a complete rip off. The people at 5 Star tell you 90 days to market your timeshare, because after that time period, you have zero recourse with the credit card company for a refund.

DO NOT GIVE ANY TIME SHARE COMPANY ONE CENT TO SELL YOUR "BONUS WEEKS". I am hoping this will steer other victims away from this trap, and maybe a good lawyer will read this, and want to get involved. I am calling the attorney generals office in both Florida and Las vegas, Nv to start legal actions, and I am looking to put whomever I can, in prison.
