I just recieved my cellphone bill and I saw a new charge that I have never seen before it lists as: "654654-Predictomoble" for $9.99. I was not sure what it was for, So I called Alltel my cellphone provider for 8 years and inquired what it was.
They claimed that I signed up for an Internet service and they could not do anything about it. I asked what the sevice was for they told me it is used for text voting polls. I informed alltel It cancled my text service 4 years ago and why would I sign up for a text service when I have never received or sent text?
They claimed there was nothing they could do but credit me 2 text pages, one to to reply back to "654654" and say "STOP Service" and the company would stop the service and send me another text message with their 1-800-number. I asked the Alltel Rep for Predictomoble contact info and they clamed they did not have it and the only way I could get a credit is by contacting Predictomoble.
So when I got home from work, I did a Google search and found this site and got the 1-800-360-0518 contact # for Predictomoble. I called them and spoke to a rep named Kat, she claimed they do not give refunds and can only cancel my service for next month. I asked her when and how could I have signed up for the service? She claimed I signed up for the service from their website.
I checked the date of the service against my cellphone bill and saw no cellphone activity. I asked her what other info they had to authrize the billing and the service? She claimed I typed in some authrization code to obtain the service from thier web site. I inquired I they could verify my E-mail or home address and she claimed none of that data was required to set up service.
So asked to talk to a supervisor and spoke to a Sara Thomas and re-explained the scenero with her and she also claimed I am required to pay the $9.99 service and all they can do is cancel the service for next month. I asked her,"Let me get this straight, I did not autherize the service from my cellphone or my e-mail account and you do not even know what my home address is and I am required to pay for a service that I have never used and I do not even know what it is?" They claimed all I can do is E-mail them at email@example.com and they will look into it. I told her that was unaccepable and I wated to talk to her superviser. She claimed she was the highest level I could talk to. I told her everyone reports to someone unless you own the company. I asked her if she owned the company and claimed she did not and all I can do is e-mail their support. I asked her for her e-mail address and she claimed they do not have e-mail other the firstname.lastname@example.org and there was nothing else they could do for me. I asked her to have another supervisor call me and correct their error. I got noware with predictomobile.com.
So I contacted AllTel and got a rep and directly asked for a supervisor. She asked me what the problem was. I asked her to look up my activation date, and I have been with them for 8 years and I have never signed up for any addition services and I cancled my text messaging 4 years ago why would I sign up for a service I do not use.
AllTel finely credited my account after spending 20 minuits with AllTel on my First call and 45 minuits with predictomobile and then another 20 minuites with AllTel to get a $9.99 credit. Something must be be to stop this! Companies like predictomobile need investagated by the goverment and the cellphone companies need to compansate users for their time for this illigle activity. If I had this much trouble I know that their are others getting ripped off by this un-ethicle company!
