After a few months, I realized I was incapable of doing this all by myself and I do not have the funds to pay someone to help me. Startup Essentials website is still online but you can not contact anyone!!
I received a letter from The United States District Court, sent to me by A-1 Leasing asking me if I wanted to be included in the law suit for 3 payments. I was supposed to send back a form to them and I did assuming they wanted to make sure I got the notice dated June 6, 2008
I called Mr. Grossman, a lawyer involved and asked him if I was a member of this lawsuit and he was very rude to me and said I was as I didn't object by a certain time. Then he hung up on me!!
I have noticed that the Attorney General of Texas has charged that this is an unlawful scheme. This is posted at: http://www.oag.state.tx.us/consumer/release_view.php?id=2706 if you want to read it for yourself and print a copy.
I contacted the BBB in Texas and Michigan concerning these people and no response. I have paid these people $139.00 per month for over two years!!
With the economy the way it is I can no longer afford this now so I went to my bank and talked to them about this and they suggested I close my bank account as they are hooked into it.
My banker also told me to write all three credit reporting agencies and tell them to put a fraud alert on my credit report about these companies. I figure it won't matter too much credit wise for me as the credit card companies keep raising my interest rates and changing my billing dates which has sent my credit rating down anyway.
This website helped me to finally break free from these people no matter what happens.

Search TipsI returned the laptop by registered mail (this must be done for proof of return.
In 10 months, I have received 2 phone messages from A1. One was a warning to make immediate payments (Mar. 2009) and 6/22/2009. One letter from A-1 lawyer, Terry E Heisss, asking me to negotiate a buy out of the contract, if I wanted to avoid "adverse actions". I did not respond. No lawsuit has been filed against me, no negative credit reports have been lodged as of 6/30/2009.
Answer:
Return their garbage, and do NOT agree to anything, do not take their calls do NOT make any agreements.

They ended up suing me and won! I paid what I owed them and the debt was declared settled and the contract ended.
Now, over a year later, I've gotten a voicemail from a rather bitter representative saying nothing more than "... and my voicemails cannot go unheard!" I haven't called back yet, but I don't owe them a dang thing! If they're upset because the laptop doesn't work, it broke down from general usage. Plus, those things are only worth about 3 months' payments anyway. Seeing as how the software was broken, and I couldn't log in to their site because I couldn't reach anyone to get my login information, the laptop was the only thing on the contract that they followed through on.
