Complaint Review: A Christian Glass & Mirror
A Christian Glass & Mirror925 South Congress Avenue Delray Beach, Florida United States of America
A Christian Glass & Mirror Poor Workmanship, Installation and Customer Service Delray Beach, Florida
We had nothing but trouble with this company including finding out they did not pull a permit on part of the job until late October 2012. We had problems from day one on the installation of the shutters. No permit pavers in wrong the extra cost of time, the shutters not installed in the track, concrete issue and much more. They hired a subcontractor who hired a subcontractor to do the work. Then the first subcontractor they hired has no license to pull a permit and had to get a friend to pull the permit.
After all these items were corrected we had also complained that our front door was not installed properly. The door woudl stick, leak water and we could see light through the weatherstripping. We had the A Christian Glass out over times to look at the door and each time they said there was nothing wrong. We then had to hire an outside contractor at our expense to inspect the door. He found that the door was installed inproperly with no shims. The door was not level and bowed inward in the centers putting undue stress on the hinges. It also had poor workmanship including missing screws, chips in the door frame, and chaulking all over the door frame.
On Januay 7, 2013 they finally came out to reinstall the door. Mind you this project started back in August of 2012. This time it appeared to be installed properly but the door now rattles in the wind and still leaks water. We contracted the manufacturer directly and found out the neither of these things should happen. So we contacted A Christian again to fix these issues. They sent out someone from the distributor to look at the door and she confirmed the door was leaking and rattling. She stated that a report would be filed with the manufacturer and would let us know how to proceed from here. The same day A Christian Glass has threatened us with a lien on our property if final payment is not received. They also stated that it was manufacturer issue (althought that has not been confirmed by the manufacturer or the distributor as of yet) and that if payment is not received that they are not responsible for the reinstall of the door. Per our contract final payment is due upon completion and this door is far from complete.
Would you pay for a defective door?
