I hired this company to fix a tv that I own. They told me that it was a $50 charge to come to my house and look/trouble shoot the problem. I agreed to this and had a technician come to my home. He came to my house and looked at my tv for about 15 minutes. He then told me that it would be no problem to fix the tv, but that he would have to bring it back to his shop. He told me that it would be a $200 charge to fix the tv, that it would take a few days, and they would bring it back to me. I agreed to this and paid him $200. I asked him if it would be more to fix it, and he GAURANTEED me that it would not be more than the $200 he quoted me.
A few days later I received a call from the company telling me how nice the tv was, and that it would be easily fixed. Then the "service manager" asked me to authorize him to charge another $1300 to my credit card to fix the tv. I refused and asked him what my other options were. He told me that I could either pay him $1300 to fix the tv, or I could recieved store credit (less than $200) for a used tv in their store. I told him that I did not want to do either of these things, and wanted at least $150 back because the technician had lied to me and told me that they do not return any money, and I was "dumb" to think that $200 would fix a big screen flat panel tv. He refused to return my money, and then told me that they would destroy the tv for me for a $90 charge, or I could come and pick it up.
I went to the store that same day to pick up my tv, and there was no one available for me to talk to about the service, or lack there of, that I had received. I took my tv and returned home.
I received a phone call from a customer service person almost two weeks later, telling me that he wanted to fix the situation. I told him I was upset that I had been lied to, and ripped off, and that I wanted $150 back. He refused this, but told me I could buy a new tv from their store for $1000, and that was the best that he could do. He told me that I was going to buy a new tv anyway, so it might as well be from them because they could offer me a better guarantee that a chain store. I told him that I would not give his store any more money ever, and that they did nothing but rip me off.
I informed him that I would be contacting the better business beareau, as well as the news agency here in Denver, and my bank to reverse the charges. He told me that it did not matter to his company what I did, because I couldn't do anything to hurt their business.
