Mr. Fiano and I had agreed that he would do a transmission job on my 1994 Plymouth Voyager for $700. after I had told him I couldn't afford the original price of $1300. and now he wants to back down on his deal. Mr. Fiano first asked me for the title of my vehicl eof which I find very suspicious cause no mechanic on this earth has ever asked me for the title before. Then he has me sign a paper under misrepresentation. He said he would do the tear down fee for $350. but only if I had agreed to allow hjim to do the job and the $350. would go towards the actual job then now all of a sudden he raises the price to $2000 after I told him I couldn't afford the job for $1300. He said he had to raise the price cause the transmission to my van was in very bad shape so there I told him I wouldn't be doing the job and I wanted my van back so he said he would give me my van back for $350. He is charging me the $350. that he said he would charge only if the job was actually done. He had me sign the paper for $350. with the understanding of one thing meanwhile he verbally changed it to some thing else. Mr. Fiano failed to give me a copy of what I signed, He also didn't review the contract with me. He had me sign and initial his so called contract under misrepresentation of his offer. He has also had intentions to steal my vehicle by asking me for my title and he is trying to put words into my mouth by saying I had agreed to the $1300 in price for the transmission job when in fact I told him I couldn't afford it and that's when he dropped the price down from $1300 down to $800. then down again to $700. I have a three day grace period to terminate this so called contract he had me sign. I also tried talking decently to Mr. Fiano about all this but he rudely wouldn't hear it and hung up on me. Out of good faith I was even willing and offered to pay him $175. for the so called tear down fee he was charging. I told him I would give him $175. and he would then release my van back to me but he is refusing to do so. The outcome I want is for Mr. Fiano to accept the $175. and to give me my van back. He said all this is aggravating him however I told him if he doesn't want to hear from me again to please accept the $175.and release my van or I would report him. He said he has all the authorizing signatures. I never agreed to pay him $350. regardless. I told him I would pay him and we agreed he would get the $350. but only if he did the actual transmission job buit since that deal is now off he wants to mess me up by charging me that amount. The bottom line is that the man wants to steral my vehicle. He knows I can't afford the $2000. in price and is complaining of even putting my transmission back together. He has my property and can't do any thing with it cause I'm the rightful owner of it. Damage Resulting = Well the damage is that he wants to keep my vehicle by asking for the title before our agreement that shows of his true intentions all along. He wants to scam me out of $350. and he tricked me into signing a paper for $350. I signed that paper giving Mr. Fiano authorization to pull down my transmission and start the job only if it was for $700. however he wants to practically force me to do the job for $2000. of which I can't afford. There is no guarantee if I were to pay him the $350. that he is going to put my old transmission back together again. Dispite Mr. Fiano's bogus contract we had agreed to do the job for $700. and now he wants to scam me and keep my van. This is the damage this man and this company is trying to do to me...

The Rest Of The Story..

AUTHOR: truth be known - (United States of America)

Aamco this happened almost 3 years ago and the matter was settled so if this is the case then why are you now trying to open up a can of worms. Don't you see no one cares about your rebuttal. If your company is so innocent like you are claiming to be then why did you not repond to  the Better Business Bureau when they contacted you about this matter, why didn't you feed them this sad touching story you expect people on here to believe. Come on now we all know what really happened so lets not open up cans of worms and make up stories. And yes you are right there are two sides to every story but your side is NOT the truth. It's all fiction, make believe, and a fantasy. I'm the friend of the individual you are talking about and were holding the van hostage. If your company is so innocent and right, then why did Charlie leave and your new manager contact my friend to try to settle this matter. Why do your company agree to fix my friend's transmission at a major price cut practically losing money in exchange my friend the victim would help them bring in business and not bad mouth you all. Come on Aamco is business that slow you have nothing better to do then come on here and post on some thing that not only happened in 2009 but was also settled. Is business that slow you have to now make up stories. If that's the case you shouldn't working in transmission repair you should be writing fiction books cause I see you're very good at it.

As far as wanting my friend's van title you must of been out of your mind to think this person was going to hand over the title. If you didn't want a broken van all you had to do was put the old transmission back for the $175 and give the van back to its rightful owner. You're talking about your side of the story but you left out these important facts on how all this was resolved and no matter how respectful and nice my friend would of been you still would of found a way to rip this person off so don't come with that. Your new manager was trying to seek peace and a resolution between my friend and Aamco. So if you claim there are really two sides to the story why did your company then cave in like scared puppy dogs and work out a solution knowing you were going to come out losing.  Today my friend is NOT thinking about Aamco or what happened and we know your business didn't lose customers because of this complaint so if that's the case then why even bring all this junk up. Let it go and move on. People aren't interested in you crying over the past and on a matter that has been resolved. My friend doesn't bad mouth your company or even thinks about Aamco. To this person you and your company isn't on this planet. Like that saying "Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind"..

The Rest of The Story

AUTHOR: AAmco Transmission - (United States of America)

What this gentleman failed to mention directly, but if you re-read his story, and he states in there, he knew there was going to be a 350.00 tear down fee, AND, I have his authorizing signature,  thats non negotiable, the fee is waived if you have the repair done, we gave him three options of how to fix his transmission, the 700.00 was just to fix just what was broken in his transmission, the 1300. was to fix what was broken AND do a soft parts overhaul, and the 2000. was to do a complete overhaul of the transmission, HE could not come up with the money, so HE called back and wanted me to re-assemble it and give him his van back for 175., that was not what we agreed on, and is non- negotiable, I did ask for the title in lieu of the money, because I knew you can go on craigslist and find people who buy broken cars for 300.00, BUT, you need the title, so I asked for the title, no deception there, I did not want a broken van, I am not unsympathetic, however, my guys do not work for free, and I cannot negotiate their paychecks, nor can I re-negotiate the rent on my building every month, it is an industry standard to charge a tear down fee, some are higher, some are lower, but the fee is always applied to the repair, as long as the repair is done at the shop, but you cannot authorize, sign and agree to the tear down fee, and then say all I have is 175. after the fact, AND, if he had come at me in a different manner I probably would have worked with the gentleman, but he came at me threatening attornies, etc, etc, I have his signature, AND I have on video him verbally authorizing it and signing it,,, Its a shame this gentleman had to twist this thing around to make us look bad.  There are TWO sides to every story, there really are
