I paid AAMCO over $2500.0 for a complete re-build of the automatic transmission in my 1998 Chevrolet 3500 pick up truck. THe rebuild was to include compliance with service recomendations and upgrades published by GM since its construction. The truck was used primarily as a second vehicle for occasional towing duties well within its published, and, tolerated limits, however, the rebuilt treansmission failed in less that 3000 miles. After finally locating my paperwork I returned to find the franchisee had gone out of business and I could not , and , cannot even now, get a response from AAMCO corporate. I've had mechanics since analyise my transmission and they all say it needs a new or rebuilt transmission, which, begs the question, what did they really do for the money I paid them.

We are sorry you had a bad experience with the last franchise in Cumming. I saw your report and just wanted to set the record straight as far as the current AAMCO in Cumming and assure you and everyone else that we are in no way related to the past store where you had such a bad experience. Different owner, employees, location, and most importantly, a higher quality of service. The good side of a franchise buisness is you have an option to go somewhere else when the store goes out of business, while the downside is the quality of work can vary widely from location to location. Seeing stories like this frustrates us as well as customers because it reflects on the entire chain. AAMCO has been very proactive recently to identify owners not following corporate standards. This is not a "rebuttal" in the true sense because I do not doubt the accuracy of this gentleman's word. I can tell you, as the current AAMCO manager at the new store, our warranty rate runs less than 5% consistently. Sometimes parts are deffective, sometimes there is an error and warranty repair is needed. As long as these things are made by men and not God himself there's the chance of a problem. I've personally pulled reman transmissions from dealership crates that did not work properly in my career. The key is to make sure, to the greatest extent possible, the customer gets a great product. We have now been in business almost three years at the current store and have provided an excellent service for consumers in the Cumming area.

Sorry to hear about your issues.  While AAMCO is not high on my favorites list you do have options and AAMCO should respond to your needs try 800-292-8500 (AAMCO Corporate Office) ask for Mike Pekula he is a good guy and is in charge of this out of business AAMCO's warranty.

If you have paper work stating any upgrades. "must be stated on the repair order" insist that these same upgrades be completed under the warranty repairs.  You paid for them and you should get them. If the upgrades were "suppose to" be there and are not stated then you are likely out of luck.  (what ever those upgrades may be)

Your warranty has a certain component of tow coverage that may apply to the nearest AAMCO. You should not have to pay a dime for any additional repair. Give AAMCO a chance to take care of you if they do then good for you if not then leave reviews about them on GOOGLE and Yelp.

The guy that went out of business was likley a sucessful AAMCO franchisee.

Just this business counsel               "AAMCO is the fastest way to $100,000  one hundred thousand dollars----------------------------- If you first started with $1,000,000 one million.
