I was a member of Bally's Total Fitness. Blast fitness then took over Bally's. I was told by a gym receptionist that I need to switch my membership over to Blast Fitness so I could get their membership card ane benefits as its only $10 / month as opposed to the $26 / month that I was paying for Bally's. So I filled out the paper work and got a Blast Card. Then I started getting bills in the mail for the old Bally's membership. I had since cancelled my credit card that i used with bally's hence why they weren't able to charge me. But I'm still getting bills. When I called up ABC Financial, they told me the receptionist never cancelled my Bally's membership. Okay, I thought it switched right over, didnt realize it was 'cancelling'. So the receptionist told me she must have forgot and I had ABC Financial cancel it for me. Then, ABCfinancial told me I owed a $26 charge for my June memberhsip dues because they need 30 days notice of cancelling and I didnt give them 30 days. I didnt' cancel the membership ! The $10 I paid for the Blast fitness membership covered my June membership dues. I was told I was switching it over. I still belong to the gym so how am I cancelling?? I told them I'm NOT PAYING membership fees for blast and bally's fitness because I didnt cancel anything. Yet, the abc financial rep kept telling me i cancelled the bally's membership, and so I owe the money. I was told i'm switching it over to blast. This is ridiculous ! I'm not an unreasonable person and will pay money I feel like I owe. But I am not paying June membership dues for Blast and Bally's. Yet, this fee will probably go to collections and my credit will get dinged. But I feel like I'm getting scammed here. Is this company not willing to do the right thing ?
