My daughter signed with this agency when she was 16 years old and am happy to say that she worked and was paid although sometimes it took months. I am one of the mothers who paid the fees to be on Abfabs website, paid for several photoshoots, paid for comp cards, an Abfab portfolio book and at first thought my daughter and I were being directed by a true professional in the industry.  I was directed to Ripoff Report by a friend a few weeks back and was astonished at how many negative reports are against this agency.  At first I wouldn't believe it and even argued with my friend against the statements but I asked my daughter and a couple of other models about what was written in these reports.  Although my daughter and her friends who still model for Abfab seem unphased by what was said they laughed and said everything was true.  Well I am not laughing and I don't think this is funny!  I asked about Janes alleged drunkeness and they said they have witnessed this on many occasions.  I was told Jane keeps wine in her office and she and her friends all sit in there and drink while models (some underage left in her care) are doing shoots in the back.  I thought about how many times I left my underage daughter under her supervision when she was doing shoots and I am angry this was going on the whole time.  My daughter doesn't seem to mind because she said Jane treats her like a friend.  They say Jane gets really affectionate and acts like a hurt child when she is drunk and they all feel sorry for her and want to help her.  They even said she begs them to help her so she can get business.  This explains all of the free things my daughter did for her.  Would she want anyone burdening her children with their problems? Next I find out that "friendship" with Jane includes Jane revealing all of her personal problems to my daughter and her friends.  She told these young underage girls about her marital problems, family problems, problems with her business, problems with her adult friends, problems with her business associates and other personal problems.  Things that shouldn't burden or may be inappropriate for a teenager. I also found out that my underaged daughter was left in the care of strange photographers and and equally shady characters including strange men and some strange acting homosexuals, asked to do inappropriate photo shoots by Janes photographer friends and left in the hands of other odd people Jane associates with when I thought my daughter was with her.  We are Christians and we don't drink or associate with people who go against what the bible says.  Even if I do approve I should have been told who my daughter was associating with.  The mother who alerted me to this site is a friend  that I sent to Abfab and was suspicious of the agency as she is with anything concerning her daughter.  She did her homework beforehand and when they met with Jane asked her about the complaints and the things said about her agency.  My friend told me that Jane got really upset and perturbed.  My friend said Jane wouldn't address the complaints to settle her concerns but instead was very rude. I was fooled by the British accent and the terms of endearment she constantly uses in her conversations but now I am aware of the truth and of the ripoff involved with dealing with Jane and her agency.  I even learned that Jane has no modeling agency experience and I really believed she did.  I am horrified that I didn't see this and ashamed of myself for not seeing past the endless stream of lies she told to my daughter and I.  I want to thank ripoff report for awakening me to the what took place with this agency and its owner.  I have since asked my now college age daughter to quit the agency.  I hope other mothers read this and take these complaints very seriously.  If you do meet with Jane question her about these complaints and her shady business practices before you sign.  I learned the hard way after shelling out over a thousand dollars this agency is not credible in any way.  You can sign me hurt, angry and very disappointed!
