I opened an account with Accountnow and switched my direct deposit to the account.  My employer deposited my paycheck on Sunday, it is now Tuesday and I'm being told that I can't get to my money until tomorrow.  That's 3 days, I've always been able to withdraw my paycheck on Monday when I used a different bank, and now I have to wait 3 days for MY money?  This is to their benefit, since they can draw interest off of the money sitting on "hold" on our accounts.  I have called them over and over today, I am told that my employer designated the funds to be depositied Wednesday, which I know is a lie.  I have talked to my employer and was told the date and time of the deposit.  And it was always available to me on Monday with the other bank, so I know that this is Accountnow, not my employer.  It seems as though laws are possibly being broken, but I guess accountnow deosn't have to play by the same rules as everyone else.  I have been on hold for 45 minutes each time and then I hang up and call back and I am put on hold again.  I am being charged $2 every time I call them.  Customer service does not apparently exist with this company.   DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM, IT IS A NIGHTMARE THAT DOESN'T END!!!!!!

I agree with all the people here making this absolute scamming companies dirty little/big lies. I ordered my card on February 19th counting on receiving it as advertised within 5-7 business days after sign up. By march 1st there's still nothing, when i called it took 45 minutes to speak to some representative way out in India, who doesn't apparently know that any us mail going from ca to nv does not take longer than 2 days and according to them they sent the card on February 21st. Then she went on to state it takes 5-7 business days well hello it's march 1st next thing you know it's 5pm and she hangs up the phone. I called all through the weekend and everytime was put on hold for at least forty minutes NOT 5MIN... they have absolutely no representatives that are American or in America and they're absolutely clueless way down there in India. March 5th my tax refund is supposed to be deposited on march 6th and these people keep telling me it's not then but the post office, well how come my boa card arrived yesterday just fine. I stated reading up on them and apparently there are thousands of people being ripped off by thus company, transferring tax refunds into other accounts, stealing cards and account numbers, stealing direct deposits that go up in thin air, delayed deposits, and so on and so forth. As if people who needed to open an account with them don't already have it difficult enough this billion dollar profiting company wants to rip us off and make life even harder. We have kids we need to feed, rent we have to pay etc, i think you idiots from ACCOUNTNOW should pay our late fees and be charged just like you charge us for everything. I'm so scared they're going to steal my hard earned refund like they did so many others apparently. As I've read they never respond our resolve any issues when youcall them and their customer service (what a joke) is only open til 5pm. But hello people most companies with reps just in India are scamming companies, because india is one of the highest rated identity theft countries in the world, being that they're untouchable way across, being that they work with information of people ask across the world, they steal credit card numbers all the time and sell them off to America, Europe,Africa etc. that's credit card numbers basically they sell, and this company is full of these scanners. And then there's the big fish stealing by holding onto or monies unlawfully longer than what they're supposed to, to collect more interest money. I'd be very immersed in a class action lawsuit against this horrible company!!! We need to unite and fight these crooks

I too had an account with netspend and that's when I first learned that social security releases funds a week or so before the 1st of every month.  With netspend my disability money was posted on my account as soon as social security released the funds.  The Account Now rep here is telling a story which I know for a fact is way less than the truth.  You are holding our funds probably for the interest like another has said. I think since you are doing so you should share that interest with your account holders and make adjustments to our deposits which reflect part of that interest in our favor.  Say what you want but I know better. Thanks

1) DEPOSIT FROM PAYCHECK TUESDAY
2) SHOULD BE PENDING LIKE ALWAYS DOES THE LAST 3 YRS  THURSDAY
3) PAYDAY DATE FOR RELEASE IS FRIDAY - ALWAYS!!!!
4) ACCOUNT NOW IS SAYING NO NOTIFICATION WHICH IS BIG BULLSHIT, AS PAYCHECK
CHECKED AND FUNDS HAVE NO CAME BACK AND BY LAW SHOULD OF HIT IN 48 HRS
PERIOD BANK TO BANK.
5) NOW GETTING DICKED AROUND, MY RENT IS DUE AND WILL GET EVICTION NOTICE
MONDAY!!  MY CAR PAYMENT LATE AS WELL!!

I too have a problem with their direct deposit.

I just recently opened an account with accountnow also. I had a netspend account, which both of these prepaid cards use the same bank (Metabank). I used Netspend for 2 years and I switched this month to Accountnow because they offer credit builder.

Anyway I get SSI every month for my sons and when I had Netspend, my direct deposit always came between the 23rd and 28th of every month. I checked my Accountnow balance and it still said 0.00 in my account. I looked into my actual account and the deposit has been put in the account and they won't release the direct deposit until this Thursday the 31st. I have bills to pay that are due tomorrow the 29th. I have called and emailed all day and can't get through to anyone!!!

I wiil be taking my money out of this account and have my direct deposit going back into my netspend account and get a secured credit card to build my credit back up. To the employee, you are a straight out lie about not being able to release funds. I have been getting my direct deposit at least 4 days to 1 week earlier every month for the past 2 years. Accountnow sucks and I would advise people to not use them. Metabank needs to just stick with Netspend All Access.

Amanda, I'm very sorry that you experienced issues with your Direct Deposit posting in a timely manner.  Often the sender of the deposit will send us a deposit in advance of the actual posting date.  We post deposits to our customer accounts based on the posting date due to the regulations imposed by the Federal Reserve Bank.  For direct deposits, it is the sender of the funds that controls when the funds are available, which in this case appears to be your employer.
