This company called my brother looking for our ex step brother. He has no clue how they got his number which this brother doesn't even have & is in his new wife's name. They said he had committed bank fraud & that if he didn't call them in 48 hrs. they were going to issue a warrant & go to his work. If they know what city he lives in & where he works why are they calling his ex step brother whom lives in a different state? They called from a "private" number but left this number 855-835-5679. A debt collector can not issue a warrant. They do not go to your work. If you legitimately owe them money they will sue in civil court. If it is a criminal act as bank fraud then a debt collector wouldn't be handling it, the FBI & the police would be handling it! This brother has never committed bank fraud & has no clue what this is about. I looked them up on the internet & then called the number. I told the lady I needed to speak with a manager or supervisor. She ask why I was calling & I told her I was calling to inform them that I was reporting them to the FTC & the Attorney General for violation of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act. They are a scam! Ask them to send you validation of this & proof & that you dispute this frivilous alleged debt & if they call you again you will sue THEM! I got involved b/c I am a credit specialist & know the law & do not like scammer! Please beware & get informed. If you do owe debt from the past check the statute of limitations in your state. If they are up the company can't sue you or harrass you! This is not the case w/this company, they are straight out frauds!
