Below is a letter that I wrote to AHMSI tax dept......this is the 4th fax I have sent to them in the past 4 months. Each time I fax them paperwork, it is usually 12 pages long & has all of my town history statements, 2 years of tax/escrow payments, along with other info.
In a nutshell.....Citi was my mortg. co. and they transferred me to AHMSI. Citi took one of my quarterly tax payments out of my escrow and NEVER sent it to my town tax dept. So each time a tax pymt is made - it applies to the one that is missed and the current one becomes the late one - while the entire time I am being charged interest - a chain reaction.....so what does AHMSI do - they take the missed tax payment and pull it out of my escrow to pay the tax. So - I have to pay my 2nd quarter taxes 2X out of my escrow when this amount was already deducted from my account when Citi was my lender??? Paying them once is fun enough dont you think? Anywho - the story gets more retarded as the weeks pass....and more errors occur....the folks at AHMSI tax dept are as dumb as rocks - they barely speak a word of English...and clearly they have NO tax accounting education or experience.
WARNING FOR THOSE LOOKING TO BORROW FROM AHMSI - RUN NOW WHILE YOU CAN - UNLESS YOU ENJOY PEOPLE F*CKING UP YOUR $$$$ AND YOUR LIFE!!! Below is the letter I wrote them:
I called yesterday regarding the non payment of my taxes (which are escrowed) and I need this mess figured out immediately. I cannot wait 3 weeks, I am refinancing my house next week. I have been fighting this issue since March of 2009 enough is enough.
In the additional pages to follow, I have included each mortgage statement from Citi and AHMSI showing each tax payment that had been taken OUT OF MY escrow account, as well as the history summary from my town's tax dept. 12 Pages TOTAL
Each page shows what payments took place it shows that I PAID from MY escrow my Real Estate Taxes.The tax departments' history summary for my account shows that they NEVER received a payment from Citi.. YOU should NOT have taken that tax payment, that my town never received, OUT of my escrow AGAIN IT WAS ALREADY TAKEN OUT OF MY ESCROW ACCT ALREADY - I ALREADY PAID IT IT WAS ALREADY DEDUCTED!!
Not only that BUT I have been charged, multiple times, interest charges on the tax payment that was never received. I paid this out of my own pocket and you have somehow managed to deduct some of the additional interest charges and the demand bill fee out of my escrow. THIS was not an error on my part, YET I got stuck paying for it. So thank you for that.
Not only that but you have also overpaid my August 1st real estate tax bill AND you have also sent them a check for $ 795.31 which even managed to confuse the town Tax Collector..they will be using this as my November 09 & of my February 2010 tax payment..because of this my escrow is now NEGATIVE $543.72.
I do not know what the hell is going on over there or who has been so called REVIEWING my account but IF these errors hold me up from closing on the refinancing of my house I will be getting myself a lawyer. And if the percentage rate goes up so much as 1/100th of a percent in the meantime I will be requesting more $$ than just the amount of back escrow that is owed to me That missed rate over a 30 year loan. Maybe you can get your entire accounting dept. together and do the math or I could get my 11 year old daughter to figure it out for you..
If you cannot tell that this entire mess is completely frustrating, then I'm sorry. $400 may not be a lot of money to you & the company you work for but when you only make enough $$ to barely squeak by every month, and you are living off oodles of noodles and water to surviveit would piss you off too.
