ILLEGAL CREDIT CARD USAGE/UNAUTHORISED CHARGES/ NO PRODUCT/NO CUSTOMER SERVICE

I Booked online order for few parts on 27th of Nov 2007 with free shipping option from USA.
But even after few weeks I don't see order is shipped, I got credit card charge which was three times the actual amount contraditing the original contract and online order confirmation.

Moreover even after calling and emailing several times , I did not get any tracking number or any shipping details from them. When I asked for refund these guys started making so many excuses and reasons, at the same time these jokers have no clues about shipping. Even we contacted their credit card account department.

How can these kind of rip off artists charge three times higher illegally without any information and that too without any product being shipped.

I was charged 14% Taxes on the order I placed to USA, which is no way legal in USA, and that too without any information or intimation or prior clause.
USA suppliers are not required to charge local taxes on international orders.

I have faced a huge loss from my customer whose machines are down. The product which I was suppose to receive in few days, is still not shipped / not received and no shipping information is provided. I called them couple of times to update me on shipping info. Only reply was: " we do not have that info"

Please avoid these jokers whose customer service is next to garbage. I have called my bank and informed about the illegal charges who will now take care of this illegal , unauthorised charges for which no product is shipped.

When I called Credit card department of Allied Electronics, one rude lady kept on refering me to sales dept, She was absolutely of no help in sorting out the issues of unauthorised charge. She had no explanation and she was not willing to cooperate to give me right information.

So if you ever plan to buy from them , be careful, and keep few things in mind:

BE PREPARED TO WAIT INDEFINATELY FOR THE ORDERED ITEMS
BE PREPARED TO GET RIPPED OFF ON YOUR CREDIT CARD
BE PREPARED TO GET INTO THE LOOP OF CALLING THEIR CALL CENTRE STYLE JOKERS
BE PREPARED TO LOOSE YOUR TIME, MONEY AND PEACE OF MIND
BE PREPARED TO LET THEM CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD TO ANY FANCY AMOUNT.
BE PREPARED TO THE WAY AND METHOD THEY SHIP DEVIATING THEIR ORIGINAL CONTRACT
BE PREPARED TO GET UNAUTHORISED TAXES BILLED TO YOUR CREDIT CARD.( They are good in prompt billing with hiked charges, which has no explanation- sound fishy, but this is true)

FINALLY BE PREPARED FOR NOT GETTING ANY PRODUCT YOU PURCHASED. I AM IN TURN STILL CRYING OVER MY BROKEN DEAL WITH MY END USER WHO WAS SUPPOSE TO RECEIVE THIS PRODUCT WITHIN A WEEK.

BEWARE OF ALLIED ELECTRONICS, STEER CLEAR IF YOU EVER PLAN TO BUY FROM THEM. OR JUST DON'T PAY THEM IN ADVANCE, ELSE YOU WILL LAND UP IN INFINITE LOOP, LOOSING YOUR PRECIOUS TIME, MONEY AND CUSTOMERS PLUS MENTAL HARASSMENT AND BROKEN DEAL.

I have been buying products from Allied for many years, and have seen good and bad. Every company is capable of making a mistake. Allied has always gone out of their way to keep mistakes to a minimum, and for me, has always tried to fix the problem to the best of their ability.

I don't know the specific details, but there may be some understandable causes for his dilemma. I understand the frustration, and can offer some possible causes for the problem, and possible solutions:

1) Took a long time to get parts. If you order via their web site, or even by phone, you can look at their web site first, and it will tell you EXACTLY how many parts they have in stock. If they are out of stock - they order in bulk, so it may be a while before they get more. If ordering by phone, you can specifically request drop ship directly from the manufacturer, which I have done in the past and gotten next day delivery many times without issue. I have also seen it take up to 4 months to get a part directly from the manufacturer - because that's how long it took them to fire up the assembly line and make a new batch of the part that even the manufacturer didn't have in stock any more. Allied could not be held responsible for the time it took the manufacturer to make the part, and they told me ahead of time that the part was not in stock, and had to be drop shipped from the manufacturer. In the case that they did not have the part in stock, they have suggested other vendors that might have the part. Not every company would do that.

2) Taxes. 14% taxes - coming from the state of Texas, is not uncommon. That is the aprox. sales tax rate for the city of Fort Worth, Texas, where the company is based out of. If indeed the buyer lives in a specific province or area where sales tax is illegal, perhaps they do not have that info added to their database - in which case, i'm sure it was an honest mistake, and not a company trying to take advantage of a customer.

3) Free shipping to USA means exactly that. The original poster showed himself to be working for a company in Canada ( which is outside the United States of America). While it is still on the American continent - it is not the USA, and export tarrifs and other shipping charges may apply.

I do know that ANY issue I've ever had, has been resolved quickly and promptly by the SALES STAFF ( Phillip Astiz in particular ). In my humble opinion, Phillip is one of their best, and most informed sales people. The phone number I used was different from the one the original poster put up: 817-595-3500 If the customer has not had their issue resolved yet - I would suggest contacting him, and if you are calm and not yelling at him, I'm sure he'll do his best to resolve the problem quickly.

I can not comment on the other issues this customer had as I do not work in those areas, but I can clarify the allegations of charging sales taxes illegally.

Allied Electronics, Inc (Canada) is a legal entity registered with the Canadian Revenue Agency and Province of Ontario to conduct business in Canada. The collection of all GST/HST/PST taxes is required as a part of this legal registration. All orders placed by customers using www.alliedelec.com or with a sales person via telephone are subject to all appropriate taxes.

Most customers using websites DO NOT read the terms & conditions for purchasing. That is exaclty where they would find information on things like taxes.

Below is from the 'Terms and Conditions' section of the website:

14. INTERNATIONAL ORDERS. All orders of international origin are exported from the U.S. in accordance with Export Administration Regulations. All taxes, duties, insurance, shipping charges, and other international charges and fees are the responsibility of the Customer. Minimum order is $50.00. Information including price quotations, handling, documentation and shipping can be obtained by writing:

The experience this customer has is not typical of Allied Electronics Inc. I encourage the customer to contact us again to resolve this matter. Allied Electronics has been in business for over 75 years. This did not happen because we are a 'corrupt company'. Allied Electronics cares about it's customers.
