AP9 Bargain Homes Identical fraudelent charge on VISA card for $39.80 as others have reported to Rip-Off. Goleta California

In examining our credit card statements we found a $39.80 charge to AP Bargain Homes. In calling the stated number to inquire about the nature of the charge for which we had received no goods or services, we talked with Cherise (#151225), Hector (#16303), and Jeremy (#13442). The company had none of our phone numbers which they claim are used to set up the accounts nor any other information about us.

The story from them was someone with the last name of "Vega" in Grand Rapids, MI (We don't know any Vegas and have never been to Grand Rapids) had used our credit card to set up a "free 7 day account" with our card number, never cancelled the account, and then we were charged with the accounts. However the card number had never been used for any other purchases.

The operators with whom we spoke claimed they had authority to refund up to $200 in 1 to 4 business days, but $$$ over and above that had to be reviewed by the corporate office. We told them we would report the activity to VISA if we did not see the credit in 4 days (we will report it anyway!!!)

In expressing our concern over the fraudulent nature of the charge as well as the information from the Internet (Rip-Off, etc.), the operators tried to assure us that they were a legitimate company.
