On January 20, 2008 at 10am the alarm in our house sounded. APX Alarm failed to recognize the alarm and made no effort to react to it by calling our house or emergency personnel. I am paying for the monitoring service but at this particular point in time APX was negligent and was not monitoring our premises. Because of this negligence, I no longer have the peace of mind that one would expect when purchasing an alarm monitoring service. The siren in our house was sounding for at least 10 minutes. Yet APEX did not call us. If criminals had broken into our home to steal or hurt us, they would have succeeded because even though the alarm would have sounded APX would not be monitoring and so the criminal act would have been executed. Everyone purchases the alarm monitoring systems for the peace of mind they're supposed to provide. Specifically alarm monitoring services are purchased because there is a contractual agreement that APX would perform the monitoring. They were not monitoring when my alarm went off, and in fact, I am the one that had to call them to notify them that the alarm had sounded and they were negligent. The alarm was extremely loud, yet APX did not receive the signal or so they say. The alarm went off for at least 10 minutes yet no reaction by APX. I do not trust the alarm monitoring capabilities of APX. Moreover I do not believe that APX would react to an actual security breach. If an actual security breach were to take place the hundreds of dollars that I am spending would do nothing to mitigate the risk of such a breach. This is NON-PERFORMANCE!!!!

Your Desired Resolution: I want APX to take their equipment and give me my money back. I paid for monitoring that I never received! It's obvious that APX is not reliable and it is impossible for them to prove to me that they would act responsibly in the future. Their tone is arrogant and there is no customer service orientation on the part of their staff. Based on their cleverly written contract, they think they've got everybody to the point that they have no obligations or responsibilities. That's how they act!!! This is not service - THIS IS A SCAM I remember I signed the contract. I was running on no sleep and I remember how bold the saleperson was. I should have known then.

So all you can do is complain, first of all I just want you to know that I have been in the Alarm industry for multiple years now, and all alarm systems are required to have a 4 minute timeout on the siren. Thus it is not possible for the siren to go off for that long. Maybe you were "running on no sleep" again (and for that matter they probably did call) Nonetheless, you should probably bring up your complaints or issues with faulty equipment with your company so they can at least try to resolve your concerns...

PS. It is also stated within your contract that it is your responsibility to test the alarm once a month.
