my name is Dirk, I am a SSG in the United States Army. On December 03, 2012, i have contacted uneedapart.com for a used auto part and was contacted by A&R used auto and truck parts, LLC.
The first email received by Anthony stated that the part is in stock and in "A" condition. the price including shipping would be $ 400.00 Dollars / US. It was suggested to call and discuss the purchase, so I called and first spoke to Andy. He then advised me that he shows the part in stock and that it is in fact a perfect part and ready to ship. I called back again that afternoon to confirm everything and spoke to Anthony, who assured me that all is correct and the part will ship immediately after the purchase order has been placed, and the payment confirmed. Btw, this payment now went up to $ 475.00 Dollars US, $ 400.00 for the part and $ 75.00 for shipping. Also, I was told, by Angel, that once the order is in, I would receive an invoice conformation, a tracking number, and the shipping date.
since i needed the part and i was assured that the part is in good condition, I did place the order.
I did not receive this information until 7 Dec 2012. After placing numerous telephone calls asking for the info, speaking to Andy, Angel and Anthony, I was given conflicting information every single time. This experience was like a SOPRANOS episode, the untrue information was so complex, they did not even realize how they were constantly telling on each other. LIES, LIES, LIES !!!
From "I am looking at the part right now", " sorry there was a delay in accounting" to " the shipper destroyed the part", however I did get a shipping date of 12 Dec 2012 on the invoice, not that it mattered at that time.
On December 12, 2012, Anthony called and stated that the part was destroyed by the shipper and a refund would be initiated. This refund will supposedly not take longer then 3 days.
With all this, I requested my bank to investigate and track this refund.
Further I notified A & R, that by Close of business on the 5th day, the State attorneys office and JAG shall be involved. it was then when I was finally able to track down the pending refund, which was not initiated earlier then the 15 December 2012.
In summery, my refund should come back to me within a few days now, however I still dont have the part and wasted hours and hours to try to locate this part, the refund and a new part.
Now here is the funny part:
on 14 December 2012, I re-initiated the search for the part, online, and to my surprise I received a reply within a few hours.
Anthony, from A & R emailed me. YES!!! the same email I received when this first started, the same price of $ 400, the same conditions and the part is in stock. ......mmmh??? interesting???
I am absolutely convinced that one of these guys will write a great rebuttal about all this, supposedly they are a reputable company, so they say. I should have payed more attention to the reports before mine.
Maybe this will help someone not to have to go through all this anger and disappointment that obviously not only I had to encounter.
A & R Used Auto and Truck Parts, LLC., I wish you all the luck with everything, and though I wish you would be a good and decent business, I wish more that you get caught in your own mess one day.
