ARROW TRUCKING = Tulsa, Oklahoma YES, ARROW TRUCKING IS A DISGRACE TO THE TRUCKING INDUSTRY !!!! Tulsa Oklahoma

Absolutely amazed at this driver who claims, CALDOT, inspected his truck cause some dispatcher in OK told him too? Give me a solid break. This individual's every last breath is suspect. I, having worked for the company from 2001-2005 (Truck 1069 mid-roof, 48-flat) know all of whom he speaks but never, in my 4 years have I heard, in the driver's loungeor anywhere, such unheard-of accusations as which this person spews at every paragraph. This can only be attributed to the fact that he is, though upset for an unknown reason, a LIAR. This company is now defunct and most driver's know that most is BS everywhere you go, but please, be at least, convincing. You selfish, sad individual. Wrong directions? It's on Qualcomm, everyone knows these are mostly for shit, and yet you worked there for "several years" and you didn't know "Turner" who worked for local dispatch and got everyone the hell out of Tulsa. Who the f are you? I believe, sir, that you're FOS. sorry.

I have seen the newspaper and television reports of what has happened to these arrow drivers and I think it is a disgrace. I have been a truck driver for 8yrs now, 3 of which as a flatbed driver. I have never witnessed such disregard for an employee as I have seen perpetrated by arrow trucking just before Christmas.

On or about the first of February I helped a Arrow driver untarp his load of lumber in Madras, Oregon. It was about 5 below outside and even though he was not unloading in the same area of the mill as me it was the right thing to do. He expressed to me his concerns about the possibility that Arrow trucking might be going out of business in the near future. He also confided that his intention was to work out a two week notice and gain employment with JB Hunt. I wished him luck in his endeavor and expressed my concern for what I thought about arrow trucking, even though I have never been a driver nor an employee at Arrow before. I told him that it frustrated me and a great deal of other flatbed drivers that when loading at a customer the drivers at arrow seemed to be rather laxidasical in there strapping and tarpping and would frequently hold up the line. I told him that this was not representative of every driver at arrow, however it was fairly common.

Whether or not they were headed south due to poor freight, poor managment, or poor drivers it is still not reason to leave a human being on the side of the road miles from home. A bus ticket is no substitute. Not to mention how they withheld every drivers last paycheck when they went out of business. I completely agree with the driver who wrote the original report and it seems to me that this is standard business practice at Arrow trucking.

I am getting hundreds of confirmed reports regarding commercial drivers employed by Arrow Trucking being left stranded across the country.  I have been able to confirm this, as well as the fact that all fuel cards have been turned off.

Drivers are being instructed to take their rigs to the nearest truck dealer for your rig type.  The FMCSA has issued an order demanding Arrow not shut down operations until all rigs are properly secured (truck stops and rest areas do not count).

Drivers hauling hazardous materials loads who cannot get to a dealership, terminal, or other approved secure location should contact state police or highway patrol officials.  DO NOT ABANDON A HAZMAT LOAD!!!  Police can arrange for a tow to a secure location to insure public safety.

Drivers who turn in their rigs at dealers are being told they will be given a bus ticket home, or $200, whichever is less, by the dealer within 72 hours.

While Arrow Trucking has claimed to be in negotiations with creditors, it appears there is no way they will be able to resume normal business operations, especially given the way they handled this mess and the many lawsuits being filed against them.

Arrow Trucking employs approximately 1,500 drivers, most of whom appear to be stranded across the country trying to get home.

as a otr for almost 40 yrs.,i am completely repulsed by the actions of arrow trucking. i have seen many trucking companies go down during my years on the road,but nothing like what arrow has done to their employees. it truly shows their lack of character and respect for the main people that made the co.through the years,the drivers. i have no respect the management and owners and they deserve none. it truly shows what their main objective was, greed. i am also of like mind to say that "what goes around, comes around". i also know that forgiveness is to our credit and shows what we are made of in the end, but the owners need to fall on their knees and ask for forgiveness.whatever happens to them from now on is of their own doing and they can not blame anyone but themselves. my heart goes out to the drivers and their families for the situation that they have been put in by arrow. god bless them!!!

In 1997 I graduated from Witchita Technical college with my CDL A. My top choice in employer was Arrow based on the fact that JR Holtje was my father in law & he was a tenured employee kingpin on their newly formed "HEAVY HAUL BOARD".

My training was completed with Arrow in 4 weeks & I was released from Michael Lewis Brown AKA Banshee, never forget his voice. The wife having attended the same college was training with her father & was completed a week later.

We were off & running as a newly graduated husband & wife team. We had a basically unremarkable employment history with Arrow. Perhaps a few discretionary greenhorn gags were played, but all said & done the place was rather typical. Low paying, but typical. I can recall several days & perhaps even a week or two of layovers through out my employment with Arrow. I even remember the two safety men mentioned above as heroic armed protectors of Arrow. Well, who can forget a name like Annis pronounced & aptly nicknamed AKA "Mr Anus". His trusty sidekick and the other veteran 20+ year termed Oklahoma state trooper was a ball of humor, reminded me of the skipper on Gilligan's island more than a safety man.

But un remarkable as my 11 months & 23 days of employment were, I have nothing but bitterness for Arrow as a corporate policied entity. One simple issue left me knowing all of the above negative sentiment as shemaefully accurate.

After an eventless first 11 months & 23 days of emplyment, both my wife & I were called in to our dispatchers office & terminated without any reason or consideration. Due to the fact that her father & my then father inlaw was still employed we did manage to get the bottom line reason for our termination.

Arrow apparently was paying tuition reimbursement to employee's after a year of gainfull employment. Bottom line they cut our throats to save $1600 a piece in reimbursement.

Because Oklahoma is not a "right to work state" a termination reason should have been filed on DAC, however one never was. We were employed by U.S. Xpress in a far more professional atmosphere & paid near 30% higher for our efforts.

12 years later I am retired from the over the road games & drive local for a manufacturer whom compensates me with hourly wages & bankers hours.

I wish the best to all involved with Arow, but I too never had a complete well rounded memory of them as employers.

P.S. Michael Lewis Brown can safely be proud of one thing good accompished within the confines of Arrow. He trained a driver (prophet) whom to date is incident free 12 years later. Not suggesting it had so much to do with training as it did with my own skill, but he was in the mix.

We used Arrow Trucking to haul 3 loads that we could not get scheduled on a more competent competitor and needed them delivered fast. WE scheduled the pick up for Dec 21, 2009. They were to be delivered to Canada by the 26th. We paid over $14,000.00 for the deliveries. Arrow shut down and laid off all of thier drivers, now we can not get anyone to return our calls and we have no information about the loads, which are worth over $150,000 each. They are thieves, we plan to follow them and sue for damages as well as watching the parent company for restructuring, if they do reopen under a different name we will be taking out national ads against using them, we here at our office agree that it would be worth the $10-15K to put the ads out nation wide.

I have friends who have worked for Arrow Trucking in the past, they have nothing good to say about this company.
I had an bad experience with an arrow driver in Houston, TX recently, I called the company (which took 3 hours to get through) and their attitude towards me pretty much reflected what other drivers have said about them. They don't care about their drivers or the safety of the general public using the highways around their ratty trucks! I am an owner operator and have been driving since 1997 so I'm not just some mouthy whiner who doesn't have a clue in this industry.
I am truly sorry for the drivers who are stranded away from home just days from christmas. With the closing of Arrows doors and their complete disrespect and disregard for their drivers, which are their most valuable asset, just goes to show what kind of people run that company and it doesn't come as a surprise that they would fail as a business.
I pray for the drivers and their families in these tough times, its going to hard for many of them to find a job with so many companies on a hiring freeze and with January just around the corner, we all know what that means in this business. Good luck guys.

Well all I got to say is Im glad my husband got out of this company a few months ago. This company would make them sit one or two days to get a load. No wonder, because they were secretly running out of money. This is a horrible company. Its amazing how someone who has been friends with another for soo long and dosent know the other side to them so Im gonna side with the driver who posted this report. And now Arrow will be no more. They let their original owner down thats for sure. They are the Werener Enterprises of flatbed to me.

I know from experience what great people Dav Turner and Steve Savage are. They have always gone above and beyond to protect their drivers.  Arrow has its issues but if it wasn't for Dav and Steve, Arrow would have folded many years ago.  Those two men have always been dedicated and committed to Safety, Arrow and its Drivers. There are hundreds of drivers that would agree!!  If  you were selected for an inspection it was based on your previous work experience or log book violations ...  CSA 2010- No longer will you be able to Blame others for you log book issues... you will be held accountable!!!   Either drive safe or get off the road!!! 

I worked closely with both of these men from 1993 until 2005 when I left the company. I considered both of them very close friends, professional in every respect. I knew Steve when he was the terminal manager in Fontana, and I have the highest regard for him - professional, wonderfully kind, outstanding individual.

I knew Dave Turner when he first returned to the company to enter management in the training department. I have been with him through personal triumphs and defeats. He is an excellent man. I have never known him to lie. During my years of service I knew if there was any one person that I could always count on to make right a grievance and give justice, it was Dave.

Something this person should know is that I was in the yard once in Tulsa when a driver snapped, and decided to go on a shooting spree in the office against his wife, who worked in the safety department. Fortunately, the safety manager had a gun and was a retired Oklahoma state trooper, ably backed up by his assistant manager, also a former trooper. While the facility went into lockdown, these two brave men defended us and kept him out of the building. The incident resulted in the driver's suicide several miles away after an extensive police chase. That is the reason you got the reaction you did. Try confronting in a bit less aggressive tone next time.

I don't know what the company is like today, I left in 2005 and was pretty upset at the firing of a friend, Jim Martin, who headed both the training and safety departments for over a year in 2004. It was a terrible way to reward his loyalty and hard work to have been fired for the sole reason of paying for a new executive (he used up all the payroll to pay himself). But these two men, Steve and Dave, were genuinely fine men and never for a moment ever let me down.
