I have been a member of my local Sports Club for 7 years. The owner and operator of the club hired ASF International (ASFI) about 4 years ago to take care of the billing of the clients at the gym. The gym uses ASF International software to keep track of their clientbase, etc..

My problems with ASFI began about 2 years ago when I asked them to bill my debit card on a monthly basis. They rarely billed my card on the dates I requested so I would have to call them because my bank account would show that I did not have sufficient funds. When I attempted to rectify the situation I would have to babysit my account status (call them back the next day and even the day after that) in order to make sure they had followed-up on my request. To my dismay they all too often did not follow-up and made up excuses and apologies but rarely anything of any substance to rectify the problem. In the mean time they would often place fees on my account due to it being late, etc. There was very little (if any) oversight or responsibility for their mistakes which all too often cost me money.

The most recent and worst experience began during the summer of 07. The company kept billing my debit card on several occasions and when there was no sufficient funds available they would not only bill me for it (charge an NSF fee) they would also bill my club as well. I called ASFI close to one month ago and requested that they please bring my account current by placing the charges on a separate credit card which I read very clearly to the ASFI representative. This individual not only disregarded my request (after assuring me that he had followed my instructions) but continued to bill the original debit card which continued to get the same results as before. They continued to charge fees on my account. I called back a week later when I realized that whenever I came into my gym that the computer showed that I had not brought the account current. The ASFI Rep. said "well I do apologize for that sir.... bla bla bla." The typical corporate song and dance and she said that I owed $260.00 in order to bring my account current. I then gave a ASFI representative my credit card number the second time. She said it would take 3 to 5 business days to process which is a joke these days. After this situation had still not been rectified after 3 business days I called them back again to make sure that the new credit card information had been processed and got a very rude representative on the phone. This man was abrasive and unhelpful. I had to ask him at least 3 times to speak with his supervisor. When she finally came on the line she was also very unhelpful saying that it would be impossible for them to process my request in 2 days. She then asked me to pay the full amount through the next month (October) which is an additional $65.00. She threw out some arbitrary amount above the amount I owed. The amounts that ASFI has billed my credit card has often been arbitrary. The supervisor also stated that the ASFI rep. I had spoken with prior to this conversation had given me the wrong amount to make my account current over the phone and that she would speak with her. ASFI is a huge raqueteering scam but unfortunately my gym uses this company to process their bills and unless the club owner changes their billing company there is not much I can do.

If enough people sign on to a class action law suit I am going to be on the list. ASFI has either got to stop the scams or be shut down.

I can honestly state, after reviewing Mr. Clark's file, that not all of the problems regarding his payments have been ASF International's fault. There are many circumstances that have occurred that we had no control over. Unfortunately, I can't get into specifics without violating disclosure laws, however, Mr. Clark does have a role in alot of the errors that have occurred.

We do accept responsibility for some of the problems he has incurred and have made every attempt to solve them amicably.
