ASF International Will Not Allow Cancellation; Fraud! Highlands Ranch Colorado

Multiple time in 2012 I tried to cancel my gym membership because I moved out of town.  In April 2012 I just noticed that I was still getting autodrafted from the gym's billing company.  Well I prompted shut off the autoraft through my bank thinking the company would just cancel my account.  ISn't this what typically happpens? I hadnt been to the gym in over 6 months.  Well, This billing service refuses to let me cancel my account, despite the fact that I have not used the services in over six month.  I have unknowingly been paying for the services (autodraft) which was supposed to have been cancelled Sept 2012.  They continued to autodraft my account, and when I finally noticed the unauthorized drafts and cancelled them, they charged me late fees for services I'm not receiving!  They now say I cannot cancel the contract until I pay the late fees, but they have been getting paid for services that I haven't been using this whole time.  They say they will continue to bill me monthly, thereby racking up fraudulent charges, until I pay the month of May and June 2013 (which it isnt even June yet and I've already been charged?)  Mind you I tried to cancel Sept 2012 in writing.  The cancellation wont become effective, according to them, until I am current with my account, despite the fact that I'm disputing these charges.  I can pay the $80 (2 months plus late fees) and be allowed to cancel my account, or continue to acccrue monthly charges and additional late fees as we work this out-  that's blackmail.  "Pay this and we'll make it easy on you." You gotta be kidding me!!  

I would be so ashamed to work for this company.  The employee turnover rate must be astronomical. 

I am not even seeking reimbursement for the hundreds of dollars paid to the company over the past few months.  ALL I want is to settle the supposedly "outstanding" charges that occurred because I cancelled the autodraft once I finally realized they were billing me without authorization for services not received.  Thus, I just want them to resolve the balance for $80+ and Cancel the contract for good.  It should have been cancelled when the term ended on 8/2012 and when I requested cancellation 9/12.  This is a complete abuse of an autodraft system. They can keep all the money I already paid them.  Simply eradicate the balance, which is for services not rendered.  Horrible customer service too.
