Ordered a new dining table which was delivered damaged, Contacted Ashley within 24 hours,now Ashley is refusing to replace the table or allow a return.  We were told by salesman, Bill C.,at the Algonquin Ashley on Randall Rd. that we had 5 days to return.  When table was set up it was covered with styrofoam dust and pieces, I was simply asked to sign that it was delivered in a polite manner. They stated it as concerning their sub-contracted delivery service.  After signing the contracted delivery men left assuring me the table was in perfect condition and new.  When the dust was wiped off and the sun shone through onto the table it was evident I had been given a "previously repaired" and scratched table.  There was also a chip not easily visible hidden under the top of the table.  When my husband returned home from the firehouse the next morning and could see what the "light of day" revealed, he called Ashley (his name on the purchase yet ANYONE over 18 can accept delivery (their statement and print), ...called to ask for another table in NEW condition, but we were told they had to have a technician contact us within 24 hours to come and see it.  Three days later and still no technician phone call!! I had to have my credit card company contact them with me on the phone(3 way) and they stated to us,"Ashley has no return policy", and that the salesman incorrectly stated we had 5 days, and he gave no reply as to why a technician had never contacted us.  Also when we purchased an additional 5 year warranty/repair plan we were told it would be repaired to OUR satisfaction or replaced- something we rarely purchase--we are now informed that any repair tour "NEW" table only has to be repaired to THEIR satisfaction!  WHAT??? who would buy that plan?? Lied to and ripped off by a major brand, sign of the times, customer service is dead. DON'T PLAY YOU WILL PAY-BEWARE!!
