AT&T - BellSouth DSL Service AT&T's Shameless DSL Ad Campaign designed to overcharge the uninformed Alpharetta Georgia

AT&T is advertising basic DSL internet service for $19.95 a month and claiming it is a special limited time offer. All their ads all have TOLL FREE numbers to call to take advantage of this special deal.

What they are not disclosing in their ads is the following: As part of AT&T's concession agreement with the FCC to take over BellSouth, they agreed to make basic DSL service available to all new subscribers in all 22 states involved in the takeover for $10.00 a month for the next 30 months.

Be aware if you fall for their advertising hype and sign up by phone for $19.95 a month, you will end up paying almost double what you need to. If you are a new customer and want the service, sign up on their web site and follow the instructions below.

To confirm what I am telling you to be accurate, go to their web site and look for a "term contract plans" link to reveal the details. My guess is, the reason they are telling people to call a toll free number to sign up is because this information is pretty well hidden from the public, and they won't tell you about it, or discuss the $10.00 plan over the phone.

The link takes you to a HTML PUBLIC document written in code that prevents posting a direct link.

Remember, DO NOT sign up by calling any of their toll free numbers or you will get burned ! Be aware, that once you sign up at $19.95 you are no longer considered a New Customer, and only new customers qualify for the $10.00 price. That is the rub and a borderline shameless rip off attempt !
